    Playoffs discussion 2020

Never said I count the 1 game WC playoff series. I want to see us win an NLDS series before I go jumping up and down that we’ve finally broken our playoff curse.

    Playoffs discussion 2020

Marlins have never lost a postseason series in their history. Will they break that streak, or will we finally make it out of the NLDS after 19 years of futility (I’m sorry I don’t count our 2 game win as a series win)?

Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

I would assume little to none, as there is no revenue being generated by having asses in seats. Playoff runs earn teams money by selling out their stadiums. We played 2 home games to no fans and are now going to go play in Texas. Even the little bit we’ll earn in TV or radio revenue is nothing...

GDT : Braves vs Reds game 2

Something keeps pissing me off on the ticker on ESPN, keeps listing us as playing winner of Miami/Chicago game in Houston. But if the Dodgers lose, wouldn’t we go to Arlington as the top seed in the NL?

GDT: Braves vs Reds Game 1

Game is lost already for posting GDT before lineups are announced.

Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

Yeah imagine when a team signs him to a 4-5 year contract and he literally has nothing to play for as his money is guaranteed. He’ll show up to spring training in 2022 looking like Pablo Sandoval.

    Sandoval up

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Hamels move to the 60 day IL to make a spot and Davidson back down. If they know Hamels won’t pitch in postseason, no need to only have him on the 10 day and taking up a roster spot.

    Around the League 2020 Edition

Braves contracts with staff run through 12/31 and will be honored through that date. Most other teams have contracts that run through 10/31 and will be making the same decisions soon. Braves just seemed to get the jump due to their public earnings call a few weeks ago. This is not going to a...

Rotation for the rest of the season

I do like that they’re keeping the AL in NL stadiums and NL in AL stadiums. Only way a team gets a true home field advantage is if the a Rangers make the a World Series (which they won’t as they won’t even qualify for the postseason). And, if it’s anything like the NHL bubble, home and away will...

Rotation for the rest of the season

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29865089/sources-mlb-bubble-plan-awaits-union-approval This is the latest proposal I had seen. WC round, higher seeded teams would host the entire series. Then NL would move to Arlington and Houston and AL would move to San Diego and LA. NL championship would...

Rotation for the rest of the season

I think you’re forgetting the fact that Hamels will hurt himself lifting his toothbrush the night before his first scheduled start. And Folty will take the mound weighing 87 pounds and not be able to throw harder than 75 miles an hour, but after the game he’ll say he feels fine and doesn’t...

Nats @ Braves, Doubleheader 9/4. Game 1 - ACUNA RETURNS!

Shouldn’t the innings cut off to qualify for the win be shortened in a 7 inning game? Milone went 4 but O’Day gets the win due to the 5 inning rule. I know wins really are meaningless, but I still think the cut off should be shortened in these shorter games.

Nats @ Braves, Doubleheader 9/4. Game 1 - ACUNA RETURNS!

Took me a second to realize DH was meaning double header here. My stupid brain was thinking we called up Weigel to be the DH.

    Braves Acquire Tommy Milone

He’s averaged less than 5 innings a start. Not exactly an innings eater.

    2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Doing a quick look, seems to be a barren year for players needing to be protected. Jasseel de la Cruz is the biggest name, but he’s already on the 40 man this season. Any others that would need to be added are players we’ve already played the DFA game with a few times like Sobotka, Walker, etc...

    2020 Trade Deadline Thread

I think he would definitely be awarded a much lower contract than what he currently has. But I’d put the chances of him being offered arb for next season at about 0.0001%.

GDT: 8/26 Yankes @ Braves: Debut of next #MyAce

So we bring up a 3rd catcher for the extra player, but we don’t use Travis as the DH?
