Pache was called up because AA was put in an absolute bind with the glut of OF injuries and lack of any other position players on the 40 man roster. He didn’t want to have to DFA anyone in order to bring up Schebler or sign Rafael Ortega back again.

So stupid to start Pache’s clock for this. Could have brought up Schebler to do the same thing, but would have needed the 40 man spot.

Plus, it wouldn’t be 10 games of service time at this point. He’s only been up for 1 game, so it would only count as 3-4 games of service time. Yesterday was PPD and today is an off day. So if they are going to option him, today would be the day.

Would really suck for Pache if Neck is back tomorrow and Pache gets sent back down without making his debut.

Gotta say I agree. I was extremely anti-DH prior to the season, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I guess the fact that we basically have pitchers hitting in the 7-9 spots in the order every night has made it an easier transition.
