Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

I hope so!! I liked what Trevor Bauer tweeted. Something along the lines that this isn’t the time for the players to fight to the death, that comes after the 2021 season. That’s the fight that really matters. If they hold this up and don’t play, it won’t even matter what happens after 2021...

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

So this opens the door for MLBPA to grieve as soon as Manfred announces a season. That’ll hold things up even longer.

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

That story is a bit misleading. The title says they’re thinking about instituting ties, but then the article only mentions them possibly adopting the minor league rule about starting every extra inning with a runner on second and possibly allowing players to re-enter the game in extra innings if...

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

It’s cute that you have a thing for me. But maybe keep it to baseball discussions.

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

But there are other insiders posting on Twitter that there is no deal close. Basically Heyman is the only one saying a deal is coming. https://twitter.com/EvanDrellich/status/1273322775319662607?s=20

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

Pretty much bad for everyone. Think of the Dodgers, giving up prospects for Mookie who may never have an AB as a Dodger. Or think of the Astros that now have to wait 1 or maybe even 2 years to set the all time record for team HBPs.

Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

I think the most important question will be how many players decide to play, and like stated above, how many of the ones that do play are giving it their 100%. I think we will see a large amount of players opt out of the season claiming the “high risk family member” out. Others will decide to...

MLB optimistic about starting season in late June

Yeah, this is not looking good. Neither side is going to want to give in to the other. Baseball was in the unenviable position of being the first sport to try to start and entire new season, rather than trying to finish out a season. So you have owners that haven’t earned any revenue for the...

MLB optimistic about starting season in late June

Not even that, the players are ready to file a grievance the second MLB sets the amount of games stating that the league isn’t offering the most games they can given the circumstances. So they’re forcing the league to implement a season between 48-55 games and then they’ll immediately grieve...

    The 2020 Draft Thread

Yeah, read Law’s take on all teams. Pretty useless fluff piece. Doesn’t really say anything about his feelings on how teams did, just gives 1-2 sentences on each player (mainly taken verbatim from his pre draft write ups). Grow some balls Law and give letter grades.

MLB optimistic about starting season in late June

Exactly. MLB can unilaterally decide to do a 50 game season. So they’re offering these other suggestions to see if the players will bite, but ultimately the league will just start the 50 game season. They know that’s going to hurt them come CBA negotiation time though. Plus, this latest deal...

First, the purge: Braves released 30 on May 30th, including Braxton Davidson

Hasn’t stopped MiLB thus far. The majority of players there are making peanuts.

Love that Law was wrong on us going heavy on HS. What a putz

    The 2020 Draft Thread

Few is the operative word there as we only have 3 more picks. This isn’t like last years draft.

First, the purge: Braves released 30 on May 30th, including Braxton Davidson

I don’t really think any of the players cut from any team are going to be picked up by anyone else. Every team is doing this in a cost cutting move, especially with the upcoming consolidation of minor league teams. Each team is going to have to purge even more players from their ranks. This...

    The 2020 Draft Thread

Law’s final mock on The Athletic has us taking Nick Swiney. Also mentions again his “hearing” we’re leaning heavily on HS in the later round (all 3 of them). He’s apparently basing this entirely on our draft last year and how we went HS in the late rounds. So this shows this is just something...

But I thought your source already said everything was worked out and the season was coming back real soon???

    MLBTR mock expansion draft

Yeah, it definitely seems like the 2 guys drafting this thing were more concerned about their minor league system than the MLB level talent.
