    MLB Draft Thread

Lodise can play shortstop and has ambush pull power; he’s a lower-variance utilityman. Miller went to Cape Cod after the college season to try to elevate his stock and it looks like it worked. He’s a “maybe” shortstop who struggled on defense during the SoCon tournament and Regionals, but he has...

Definitely the most intriguing player in the draft class.

Nah, I'm good with the write up. Limited upside to pick 2 and 3 and big questions about #1. Pretty universal consensus.

I just don't get excited by middling middle infielder power, particularly in college prospects.

Fangraphs. The #1 has a swing with holes it is also said. .

    MLB Draft Thread

I'm not all that excited about drafting college middle Infielders who seem to project as utility guys so it confuse me that folks think this was so much better than past drafts. Oddly a pitcher is the highest upside draft it seems.

I do t really get how people look at some names and stats and positions and decide they love or hate a draft. I look at a bunch of smaller college middle infielders and at baseline am unenthusiastic but who the hell the knows?

Dang AA got bullied into taking a bunch of SS after the run of SS had already happened. Good job fans. O

So...what are y'all's best overall theories as to what's happened (and why) in both the micro and the macro, to our braves since our world series run?

I think a lot of players have gotten injured, some have regressed to the means, others are not playing as well - either because it is a down year, or perhaps because they are in decline. The Braves financial picture obviously does not allow for expensing the seemingly infinite resources of a...

Profar - was it all cheating?

feeling healthier and stronger and more energetic probably does help your hand eye coordination. That has always been the strangest defense of PED users.

Why would you say that? There were some saying he might be done this past injury. He's a young player, medicine is highly advanced ... for the moment.

He always seemed like one that physical decline was going to clip pretty fast.

    2025 Trade Deadline Thread

Staying under the tax seems to have at least been at least a fall back goal of the offseason. They had a reasonable expectation of making playoff, maybe winning the division, but were pretty dependent on Health and bounce back offense. They got some real problems to fix now and it's going to...

Schwellenbach to the IL - Fractured Right Elbow

Another season where the injuries have really piled up. Selling seems obvious but Braves have been fairly reluctant in the past.

I'm not sure I follow how. Seems to be the same one or two fast emerging prospects there always are.

5/18 GDT: Schwellenbach, The Drake, and the Rested Bullpen in the Series Finale in Fenway

I'm not sure. If Sale, Strider and Schwellenbach are pitching well seems likely their money will be better spent in the pen, at SS, or OF.

I'd never heard of him before and saw him play two games. Had no idea how old he was. He made an impression.

The Royals prospect (catcher) Ramirez was also impressive.

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

I was wondering whether Carey was a prospect. Looks pretty good in the OF and hit some balls sharply this weekend. Drake looked like you should look but thought he had some weak fouls balls. Gil does look the part of a 70 runner.
