    Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Not sure I agree on the ceiling being different. And Cease is going to get a lot more over a lot more years.

Lopez is 29 compared to 37 when Morton came though.

    Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

I think a pitcher like Lopez on a 3/$66 from ages 29-32 is a pretty great deal. Maybe I’m higher on him but he’s got a high floor with potential for dominant seasons

King and SD avoid arb with a deal with a mutual option for next season. Not sure if that disrupts the idea of trading him?

I would think ownership needs to be on board with deferrals, especially to the levels the dodgers have done it.

    Bravos sign Profar.

“Why wait until January to sign him to his projected deal” guessing because he was asking for more, like most FAs have this offseason?

I was confused a few weeks backs when someone said there was an early January deadline for Kim to sign…

Kim signed for nothing and neither a guaranteed starting spot. Is his injury that bad? I have to assume AA offered more but Kim wanted to be in LA Edit: wrong Kim. This Kim played in the KBO last year.

I mean he traded nothing for the Cy young winner and got a good SP on a steal of a contract. You called them easy decisions and risk free. Of course that’s wrong but it didn’t stop the stupidity from whining out of your mouth

Wow being a GM is easy, every move AA made was obvious and easy, so weird that no other GM made those particular easy moves. AA just getting lucky.

? He’s an upgrade from Arcia and the offense doesn’t need a huge difference maker.

    Looking towards 2025

Soto is going to be a stud at the plate for another decade. $45m? I doubt that gets it done but if it does, do it.

    Jorge Soler to the Angels

Canning was a decent prospect once upon a time. He’s been in one of the worst orgs. Depending on cost, I could see keeping him if he can be sent to the minors to work on things.

I am in favor of that deal if he will sign for that.

    Phillies game 3

Do you still have him as “just” a 3/4 or do you think he could be better than that?

GDT 8/2: And Schwelley is comin’ to breakfast….

If such a higher percentage of this team’s best players didn’t have long injuries this year, the division would once again not even be close. Phillies have over performed all year, Braves under with everyone hurt, and yet the Phillies are up by just 5 games.
