GDT 4/22/25: Braves vs Cardinals - Blewett at the Beginning

Ozzie ends the game with the only type of batted ball he can manage. I’ve heard his demise was overrated though, and that .700 OPS is amazing for a guy with his tools.

GDT 4/21/25: Braves vs Cardinals - Kelenic moves up

Ok, and now he’s thrown 20+ pitches. Snit simply can’t be allowed to run this team.

GDT 4/21/25: Braves vs Cardinals - Kelenic moves up

Likely will need a lot of BP innings the next 2 days and Snit uses Iggy in a 4 run game.

GDT 4/21/25: Braves vs Cardinals - Kelenic moves up

He has a .711 OPS, and you’re taking a victory lap? Dude has Grade 70 hit tool, above average power, and above average speed. Folks claim his approach has deteriorated over the the last few seasons. Then you pimp a .711 OPS for a guy with those gifts? Seriously? That’s your “gotcha” moment?

    Strider on 15 day IL

Pulling a hammy while playing catch is a new one.

GDT 4/20: Holmes is the Easter Beagle

As always, the reality is almost certainly some nuanced combination of many factors. - Acuna has proven time and time again to be a low-IQ player, which probably impacts how his missteps are perceived. - Acuna is the generational talent of this franchise, and should be leading by example. GDT 4/19/25 Braves vs Twins - Saturday Baseball

Sale is a little too hard on himself. This is where a competent pitching coach should be able to step in and calm things down. The last thing this team needs is Sale pushing too hard during side session in April because he’s pissed at himself.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

That inning reminded me of the show Boston Legal when the character Denny Crane would have a moment of lucidity and do something intelligent. Snit snapped out of his dementia for a moment and made a very competent move.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

Did snit just competently use his bench players???!!

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

Now would be a great time for Harris to put up a MLB quality PA.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

Pinch hitting with terrible hitters seems pointless.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

There are just so many AAAA players on this roster it’s hard to take the Braves seriously as a contender.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

I thought for sure Elder would be good and Verdugo would fix the offense. What happened?

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

Profar without the gear is basically Verdugo, but Verdugo plays better defense.

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

There was no need for a SP this offseason. I mean look at this impressive list of depth names: Elder Waldrep Derpface Schmithead Garciaaaa Such depth! Never seen before in baseball!!

4/18 Elder and a new leadoff hitter in: BAD FRIDAY for the TWINS

Elder sitting at 90 to start the game. Looking good! Glad AA didn’t get someone who might take away his chance to shine.

    4/16: strider is back

Verdugo posted a .290 OBP in 2024. He posted a .303 OBP in 33 AAA PAs this season. In no multiverse should he be leading off for a contending team.

    4/16: strider is back

Of course Verdugo is leading off.

    4/16: strider is back

Firing Snit could be handled tactfully. Simply move him into an advisory role, and parade him around the organization so he can play the adorable old uncle role. Claim he wants to take a step back from the everyday grind, but he's so valuable the org wants to keep him around to share his wealth...
