Any reason someone can come up with why you go Fedde over Dodd if you were still going to burn Dodd. I mean Dodd can give you 3 innings then lol play the pen from there depending on score and leverage.
Not that I care that much but just an observation when I looked at the box score.
Trade twit and Elder to a division rival and let them experience twit letting him go 3 times through...
but yes, the Braves need to end the Elder experiment and never look back.
I think when a pitcher says he can't figure out how his pitches are not as good as they used to be and he doesn't know what to do PUBLICALLY, then he is probably a worse option than any other pitcher who is not publicly saying something like that.
Strider needs to be in the pen to keep...
no he won't... McCabe has had 2 games in AAA .. now that hasn't stopped the org from calling up other prospects, but I don't see them making that move while Nacho is healthy.
I wouldn't mind them trying McCabe in LF some in AAA.. just to see.
Looks like Strider might be going to the IL? He is not starting this weekend versus the Mutts and it will be Quantrill.. maybe he is being skipped, but then why not IL him if that is the case.. or to the pen, but I don't see the dummies running the team doing that either.. So I am guessing...
looks like the Braves claimed Quantrill.. wondering what they are planning to do with him (pen or start for Strider/Elder)
I would imagine Sale will be back soon too, so this is a bit confusing to me.
I will add to the lore of Waldrep as well.. what has been equally impressive is he hasn't been pitching with the benefit of being in a blow out. These games have all been close, so any mistake could have cost him the win.
that being said, he has started 4 games since his call up and has given up 1 run or less in each... that is pretty damn good regardless of the opponent.
same. and i bet no one doubts how hard it is to get balls and strikes right all the time. pitches traveling 95+ moving is amazing they get what they get right.. but the tech is there to make it right all the time.. no reason to not use it.
holy crap, Mutts are paying him 50 million a year until he is 40 (not sure it might be 50 in real age)... wow that is so freaking bad.. maybe they will get lucky and he will opt out after 2029.. yeah right..
I thought waldrep was best suited for the pen. I didn't think he had enough control to be a starter.. apparently I am not a great baseball scout and HOPEFULLY will enjoy my crow when he wins the CYA next year.
we were wrong. The Braves 1st round pick is protected. Since they are not revenue sharing and stayed under the tax, they would lose the next highest pick. So if Baldwin wins rookie of the year, I assume that is the pick they would lose. If he doesn't then it is the second rounder.
Can’t wait for ABS and him not getting the benefit of having a good eye. He does have a good eye but man he gets board line calls a lot because of his walk reputation.
