NL Rookie of the Year Watch

I can think of a few: Snit guiding a 100 win team to 95 wins and an early October exit due to tactical incompetence A Snit disciple doing the exact same thing The below slot draft pick at the top of Round 1 And most of all.... Acuna being an idiot by wasting ABS challenges contesting...

    2025-2026 offseason thread

This is a very good take, and explains how the Braves can have a bench that's actually competent in 2026. Murphy/Baldwin Allen/Brujan Fraley/White Nacho That's quite a few options to build a decent 4 man bench. The problem, of course, is when several of those guys are slated to be everyday...

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

Quick, post his stats the last 15 days. It will help you keep being argumentative for no particular reason.

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

The Harris resurrection was short lived. I’m shocked raising his hands didn’t make him suddenly understand the zone.

Albies….walked? Did hell just freeze over?

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

The Braves managed to get Sale and Murphy and Olson in trades, so I don’t buy that either. Almost every single player of any significance on the roster is a product of this system, either via trade or promotion. That’s truly remarkable, especially for a system that is never rated very highly.

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

I’ll take the MLB players the Braves have produced the last few seasons over anything any other system has provided any other team via trade or promotion.

Absolutely no reason for Strider to throw another pitch.

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

It’s interesting because depth doesn’t matter if they are producing 1-2 legit MLB players every year. It’s like as soon as the prospect gets some helium he’s producing at the MLB level before the prospect sites can react.

Tucker looks like it’s his first time playing RF.

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

How in the world did this mediocre system produce Baldwin and Waldrep? After producing Harris and Strider and Schwelly and AJSS? The organization deserves major props for its ability to develop impact players seemingly out of nowhere.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

It’s not hard to see how this offense can be very good next year. Albies/Kim/Harris at the bottom not having career worst years, and a quality OFer replacing Ozuna is really all it will take.

    GDT 9-1: Braves at Cubs

Drama queen may require surgery after getting hit in the leg. Other MLB players just shrug that off, but Acuna almost dies.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

There’s no way AA makes this gamble on Kim unless he has significant cash to spend in 2026, or is now completely incompetent. So I’m going to assume we are correct when we say AA has $100M to spend in 2026. It’s a pretty good gamble to take at a position of extreme need with Allen as a...

It’s weird that Twit waited until the season was lost to start using the DH slot effectively.

You were 100% spot on. AA missed the chance to sell high on Murphy. He hasn’t made a competent move in almost 2 years now.

GDT 8-31: Waldrep on Sunday Night Baseball

Acuna has been a negative defender since his first knee rebuild, and he’s probably only going to get worse. As always, the vast majority of his value lies in his ability to get on base 40% of the time and hit baseballs 110+ mph. Nothing else matters, and him being out of the lineup for any...

GDT 8-31: Waldrep on Sunday Night Baseball

Correct. The addition of the cutter, sinker and curve represents 3 above average or better pitches to sequence with the split. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pitcher completely reinvent is repertoire over the course of a month and end up with 4 above average or better pitches. The league will...

GDT 8-31: Waldrep on Sunday Night Baseball

Waldrep is turning into an impact arm so Twit had to make sure he over extended him for no reason whatsoever.

GDT 8-31: Waldrep on Sunday Night Baseball

The Waldrep interview just revealed why he doesn’t get as much armside run on the split as one would assume. His middle finger is on the seam which gives the balls less screwball spin than it could have. Changes have arm side run due to the stronger fingers being on the index finger side of the...
