    GDT 8-16: Braves at Guardians

This team is going to win 80 games, never be within shouting distance of the playoffs, and end up picking 15th…meaning the pick won’t be protected from signing a FA with a QO attached. It’s quite literally the worst case non-competitive season.

    GDT 8-16: Braves at Guardians

This team is going to win just enough games to be the best non-playoff team, isn’t it?

    GDT 8-15: Braves in Cleveland

I just reviewed my write up from last year on Waldrep’s stuff. I mentioned the low spin on the 4 seamer made it tempting to have him go with a sinker, but wasn’t sure how it would play with the split. Well, it looks like the split plays well off the sinker, especially when he throws the good...

    GDT 8-15: Braves in Cleveland

Once again I didn’t get to see much of his start, but he certainly snapped off a few deadly splits early. It would be huge if dialed that thing into a legit weapon.

Acuna looks rusty as hell. Did he not get any rehab PAs?

It’s entirely possible snit has no idea RoY is linked to a draft pick. In fact, it’s likely.

Looking forward to watching Waldrep. I haven’t gotten to see him throw yet this season.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

If AA isn't able to spend in 2026 then we can pretty much close the current window and draw the curtains.

    GDT 8-14: Elder Night

You really will argue about anything. Every single person understands a worse record increases the chances at a higher pick, and therefore understands having a worse record is better. And yet here you are, arguing against that sentiment for no reason other than being argumentative.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

Bellinger fits pretty well, but his value depends on having a manager capable of leveraging his versatility. Needless to say, Snit is incapable of leveraging a player like Bellinger to get maximum value for the entire roster.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

Bummer isn't a poor option for 2026 because his 2023 was controversially good or bad. He's a bad option for 2026 because his K rate is 8.82 in 2025, and that's a terrible number for a BP arm. Unfortunately, he was extended to decrease his cap hit last year, and that had to happen because AA...

8/12 GDT: Strider, The Bruján, and The Drake vs. The La Guardia Flight Path

This is interesting. Could a player under long term contract simply decline any surgical procedure and "rehab" for the next 5 years?

8/12 GDT: Strider, The Bruján, and The Drake vs. The La Guardia Flight Path

Usually yes, guys usually come back from elbow surgery throwing at least as hard they did before the surgery. Usually guys take a while to build back endurance and feel for breaking stuff, but the velocity is there. Now the apologists will jump in with some excuses about the brace procedure...

GDT 8-10: Marlins at Braves; Game 5; No Drake

It looks like the Brave are getting the good version of pre-roids Profar this year like the one who showed up in 2018, 2020, and 2022. If the worst everyday player on the roster is a guy who posts a .750 OPS and poor defense in LF, the team will be just fine. The problem is, he's like the 6th...

    Tankathon draft pick watch

Actually, based on the moves made by this organization the last 14 months this is exactly what I expect to happen. Snit will also likely allow Sale to throw 115 pitches towards the end of September so he's hurt at the beginning of 2026.

    Tankathon draft pick watch

The Braves may be the only non-contending team in history of MLB who didn't understand how to navigate the deadline to help improve their draft position. Instead, they tanked Ozuna's trade value, and now that he's healthy they will tank their draft position. Well played.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

This is the crux of the "trade Murphy" argument. The Braves can't have 2 star players sitting the bench part time while running out below average players elsewhere (Allen, White, Albies, Harris, Profar, Elder, etc, etc). Even if they did allow Murphy/Baldwin to rotate between C/DH, they still...

So which deadly pitches does Wentz throw?

GDT 8-10: Marlins at Braves; Game 5; No Drake

Woman behind the plate is better than at least half the male umpires, but I’d rather just get rid of all umps. Almost all calls can be made by the players on the field, and any disagreements go to replay. Balls and strikes fully automated. There’s literally no need for human umps anymore.

GDT 8-10: Marlins at Braves; Game 5; No Drake

I don’t think it can be understated just how terrible Allen’s .550 OPS really is.
