That comment is a sneak preview of the finale of MAGAnomics. It would take a very long time to “remake” the economy in Trump’s vision, as thethe suggested, but he’s not going to get a very long time before his movement is forced to pay at the ballot box. We are not in year 1 of a 50 (or 25, or...

Even those on the pro-tariff side should be able to admit that. And if the answer is “well, we all know Congress doesn’t function,” then it’s on you as a voter to vote out your representative, regardless of party. Folks who continuously re-elect representatives who fail to execute their duties...

And ideally it gets through to those Trump voters who can still be reached and haven’t just given in to the party’s leftward lurch on economic issues. The idea that Trump can make these sort of moves and it’s cheered on by so-called republicans is truly insane.

I don’t agree with the premise that free trade lead to the “death” of manufacturing in America, but even if that were true, what’s the evidence that installing tariffs will lead to a simple shift of service industry jobs for industrial jobs? That ignores a host of other consequences that need to...

And bye bye to the tariff revenue when the toaster factories come back to America. Which I thought was the point of this exercise. Maybe it is on Mondays, but on Tuesdays it’s about maximizing tariff revenue. Wednesdays it’s about freeing the slaves in China. Stopping Fentanyl gets a day too...

If this was the first time this was ever tried, then maybe, but this idea has been around as long as there have been nations and markets to trade. Don’t buy into the thethe theory that any data observed before March 2020 is somehow invalidated because he wishes it to be so.

I don’t disagree. This is a program that takes from the relatively poor and gives to the relatively rich. If you want to win a battle in the class war, this front would be a hell of a lot more impactful than something like cancelling student loans.
