MLB suspends ST and likely beginning of season, per Passan

Players will go where they net the most money. If you don't believe that then your truly dumber than dirt.

MLB suspends ST and likely beginning of season, per Passan

You are arguing something I never said or wrote. I will simplify: It's bad but COULD POTENTIALLY BE A LOT WORSE. I'm not arguing that COVID-19 isn't bad. I'm saying that it is relatively minor compared to how bad things could be given true worst case like a designer disease (as I referenced in...

MLB suspends ST and likely beginning of season, per Passan

You missed the point. Things happen. They always have. Most people want to wander through life telling themselves that things don't happen, even against evidence, so they can feel more secure and not have to think about what actions to take. Given the category of naturally occuring, flu-like...

MLB suspends ST and likely beginning of season, per Passan

The thing is, while horrible, COVID-19 isn't especially deadly. When the cold war ended, news came out of Russia that they had been working on biological weapons for 50 years tailoring them to be both contagious and deadly. They were cooking up virus combinations like small pox & plague...

MLB Draft, International Signees, the Braves and COVID-19

I hate to say this, but in terms of brightside, this may actually HELP the Braves considering that they gave up picks to sign FA AND are in the final year of the International penalties box.

MLB Draft, International Signees, the Braves and COVID-19

Given the reaction around the Country (and the world) to the COVID-19 outbreak, it will be interesting to see how it affects the draft, and to a lesser extent, the International market. The travel restrictions, quarantine, and cancellation of practices and games will likely severely limit MLB...

That's not what I said. I said they would have to return to 2018 form for the Braves not to be better off with Joc, plus Stripling, plus long term commitment freed from Inciarte, plus whatever trade return you get by dealing Inciarte. This was never trade Camargo and Inciarte for Joc. It was...

I don't know the prospects from either side of the failed deal. I'm speculating based on logic - the two prospects on the Angels side can't include Jo Adell. Marsh is listed by the new FG rankings as #36 so he's probably out too. Adams is at 79, so let's say it was him. Well Adams = Wilson...

Even if it's break even short term, which I don't believe, but even if, it is a better long term play because you pick up a 30 YO starter with 3 years of control left who makes $2.1M in 2020 who's peripherals look good. He can start or LR. Plus you pick up talent and move money on the Ender...

It was Pederson & Stripling for Rengifo and 2 prospects.

In my scenario, Inciarte is in a different deal to bring back young talent (not needed to today, but to keep the future going) and cutting dollar obligations both for 2020 and beyond. Instead of Camargo to Adeiny it might be Camargo to Solarte or Riley or someone acquired in the Inciarte trade.

What reasoning? Maybe you see something in Wilson and Jenista that I don't. I see Wilson as an upside at best #4 with LR being more likely. He doesn't have the stuff to close. Jenista is a project who really is living off reputation right now. As for Camargo, he's a reasonable utility piece...

Well, the Dodgers reportedly had an agreement in place with the Angels Pederson and Stripling for Rengifo and two minor leaguers. Rengifo is a not-quite Camargo. So that leaves the two minor leaguers. If you take Jo Adell out of the talks, which has to be done, then any two prospects that the...

Braves should visit with the Dodgers about the Pederson/Stripling trade. The Dodgers situation hasn't changed, they need to move some payroll and really have no room for either. While we don't know who the 2 prospects going from the Angels to the Dodgers were (or the prospect going back from...

Glad Braves weren't involved with the Dodgers. I would have hated a Wright for Wong trade. I mean, C'mon. 2 Wongs don't make a Wright.
