Dane Dunning is occupying a 26 man roster spot with a 14.25 ERA Luke Williams has been a significantly better "pitcher" in the same amount of innings.

Is there a reason Hayden Harris can't get a shot in the majors. I don't really care if he maxes out a 87 mph. He has a .64 ERA across 2 levels this year and has elite K rates. There is something more than smoke and mirrors with him.

One more interesting bit on my guy Eric Hartman and I'm done for the day: https://www.batterypower.com/atlanta-braves-prospects-minor-leagues/117984/atlanta-braves-prospects-minor-league-recap-david-mccabe-tate-southisene-luke-sinnard “Hartman has a .419 on base percentage and is perfect on...

    GDT 8-19: White Sox-Braves Game 2

Yes, we made an adjustment when he came here. He's getting way more extension and he's changed his grip on his cutter and is seeing better results on that pitch. It could be short lived. But his expected stats are still pretty solid.

    GDT 8-19: White Sox-Braves Game 2

Wentz isn't this good, but I think he's made the necessary adjustments to think he could be a quality pitcher for us in some capacity. His command has been pretty excellent in Atlanta.

Ryan Mountcastle seems like a decent comp for McCabe. Maybe Ryan O'Hearn. Maybe even Ryan Sweeney. Really any of the Ryan's

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

Eric Hartman had 2 more hits and 2 more steals last night for Augusta in a loss. He had 2 of the 3 hits for Augusta and a run scored. Southisene had the other lone hit. In Rome, Sinnard pitched an absolute gem: 5 IP, 8 K's, 1 BB, 2 H, 0 ER. Braunschweig stayed hot with another hit, SB, and 2...

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

Technically, every team that doesn't make the playoffs is in the lottery. But the Nationals, Angels, Rockies and Cardinals are ineligible to draft within the first 9 spots due to either drafting top 5 this year or participating in the lottery for 2 consecutive years. The worse position you...

Yep. There has been a stronger effort to end this war in the last 6 months than there was the previous 3 years.

Finally a promotion for McCabe! Much deserved.

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

Luckily Bryce Elder is starting tonight. That should spot the ChiSox at least 4 runs. If the Braves BP stays consistent, that's probably another 2 runs at least. If we're gonna lose, I'd like to see our long term pieces excel and the Quad A players and soon to be FAs completely shit the bed.

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

I know you are being funny, but it's super unlikely to pick 14th with 75 wins. 75 wins should net us a Top 10 pick based on recent years.

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

Edit: nevermind, I didn't realize he had been optioned once already. Was there ever a reason given why we optioned a guy with a sub 2 ERA at the ASB?

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

He's already been adjusting his pitching style. He's throwing a curve now, that he never threw before the injury, at least not with any regularity. And it's playing up very well. He has also improved his change a good bit as well. Strider is struggling with command at the moment, as pitchers...

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

His expected stats are a good bit worse however. I feel like he's probably playing a bit over his head. But I do think if everything stays the same, we should expect an OPS in the .750-800 OPS range. As long as he maintains that, he will be useful. I will say, the elite BB rate isn't something...

GDT 8-18: White Sox at Braves

I mean there's only been a few procedures done at the major league level to gauge. But Drew Rasmussen is a success story with this procedure. Of course, the Rays used him a not in the pen last year after he came back. We probably should have chose that option.

    2025 Around The League Thread

While Robles went too far, he was pretty justified to be this upset. The same pitcher had hit him 3 separate times in a span of less than a week. It was the 5th time getting hit in a span of 15 at bats. Here is the breakdown by JomBoy.
