I never thought Kim would pick up the option. Boras is gonna get him a longer term deal and he will have multiple offers out there. I wouldn't sign him long term if I was AA. Bichette is destined for 3b or 2b at some point.

I've been saying this. Regardless of this season he will opt to become a FA. He'll get a 3-5 year deal from somebody no doubt. Boras won't let him exercise that option. We will no doubt be looking for a SS in a few months.

If the Cubs were smart they'd let this be Horton's last start of the season if he pitches really well tonight. He's due for a stinker.

This is where I'm headed also. Baldwin has been here since day 1 and that is what MLB is wanting from these teams and their top rookies who are ready. I think that will play a huge part bc what if Horton had 5-6 more starts would his numbers still look good?

Baldwin has been pretty terrible for a few weeks. If he was just hitting or playing a normal position he probably would still be hitting. Playing catcher is another beast.

Olson has batted 2nd most of the year so his mindset could change a little to get on base to let others drive you in. His batting average is way up from usual. He could still end the year and 30 homers. But yeah he's the best 1b in baseball.

We should lose today against Valdez so maybe the Pirates and Twins can pull one out today. A lot of ours may come down to that Pirates series. That last week there should be no reason we see Acuna or Sale play. Don't risk it.

If we lose the Marlins are 5 up on us. With 14 games left that would be hard to lose that much ground with the way we've been playing.
