You can argue whether the approach is the best one, but it’s clearly by design. He stays very closed off and it looks a like how Jeter hit. No he’s not going to be a HOFer.
Because when you strike out 4 times in a game when you have below average power that’s really awful. He’s never hit in his career. Why do people expect that to change?
Appreciate what he did for us. But he sucks now. It’s not that he’s struggling. It’s regression. He’s losing velocity and as a guy who can’t spin a baseball there’s not much hope for him.
