    - STARTS TODAY AT 7PM - 2016 June Amateur Draft Discussion

I didn't consider that point (that more teams would be able to afford Anderson's $3M price tag, versus Groome's $4M) following the Braves' selection at #3. But my train of thought is that the "deal" might be for him to publicly state that he's asking for, say, $4M...so less teams are likely to...

The more I read/think about this, the more I think the "deal" that the Braves have cut is for him at 40...not 3.

    DRAFT DAY: PRedictions

Oh, what the heck...I'll venture a guess for the first few picks: 1. Moniak 2. Puk 3. Anderson 4. Groome 5. Senzel 6. Lewis 7. Ray 8. Pint As for my top 3 choices for ATL: 1. Lewis 2. Groome 3. Moniak

Who should our next manager be?

Something else to consider: a manager that speaks spanish. Especially if the Braves are going to be making a splash on the international scene.

    - STARTS TODAY AT 7PM - 2016 June Amateur Draft Discussion

What happens if the Braves draft someone with the 3rd pick who doesn't sign? 1) Are the Braves allowed to allocate the slot money associated with pick #3 elsewhere? 2) Is next year's draft class expected to be more top heavy whereby having picks #1 and #4 might not seem like a bad idea? One...

Thread: GDT: 4/11 Bravos @ Nationals - let the suckage continue!

Can someone help me understand how Michael Taylor is batting .100, but his OBP is .095? LINK

Baseball Prospectus Releases Top 101 Prospects

Not to hijack the thread (I'm just really looking forward to the 2016 draft), but who is everyone eyeing/hoping for the Braves to grab at #3? I originally had my eyes on Rutherford (strictly because he's a bat). Here's a link to fangraphs ratings for the upcoming draft. Looking back on 2015's...

Braves listening on Inciarte, Teheran, and Markakis for power bat; Freeman staying

There's another reason to hold onto Teheran for the time being that I haven't seen brought up... Look at next year's crop of FA that teams will be picking from to find a SP: http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/2017/starting-pitcher/

Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

I agree with this. Plus, the way I see this is that the Braves were approached about this trade. They could have sat back this deadline and not dealt wood or peraza...so somewhere along the lines, they were given a name that they couldn't say "no" to...

    2015 June Draft Results Thread

Hey guys, I don't post here that much but am a loyal lurker. Anyways, appreciate your guys' insight on the draft...couple of questions: 1) Where does a guy like Allard slot into our prospect rankings off the bat? 2) How are teams' money pools determined? How do the Astros end up with $17M? 3)...

FYI: MLB.TV Group Accounts (for those of you outside Braves TV Territory)

Totally late to the party. I usually bite the bullet and just purchase MLBtv on my own, but would be interested in going halfsies with someone if there's still interest. FWIW, I live in Manhattan...so just throwing that out there in case that would have any affect on the blackout restrictions...

Braves Trade Heyward, Walden to Cardinals for Miller and Tyrell Jenkins

I'm still sitting on the fence about this trade. I think I had come to accept the fact that Heyward wasn't going to be returning for 2016 (unless we matched whatever offers he received from other teams); and I do like the fact that Shelby is under control for 4 more years. Wish I could be more...

Can somebody ELI5 as to how the slot system works with regards to international signings...?

The Braves are moving to Cobb County

Can anyone in the Atlanta area add some insight as to what this move will mean for the Braves and their fans? Is this a better location (or more easily accessible) for attracting fans?

    starting time for game 1??

Anyone in the NYC area going out to a bar to watch Thursday/Friday's game? I was at Foley's (when they re-named it Chipper's for a weekend), but was thinking of going to a sports bar with more/bigger TVs...and was wondering if there's an actual "Braves" bar in the city?
