    Swanson getting the call...

Based on what he's done so far, he obviously trusts his baseball people more than a computer.

8/11 THURSDAY MINORS THREAD ... Braves add two pitcers

This Austin Riley is pretty good at this baseball thing. Another HR and 2B tonight. He's an extra base hitting machine!! He's had some strike out issues, but I have said for a while now that this is a kid who, had he gone to college and played at Mississippi State, would have likely been a...

    Stros DFA Gomez

8/10 MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY: Anderson debuts in Danville

Osuna hit a monster blast for Danville. That guy's power is legit. 110 mph exit velocity on a 430 foot HR.

    Is There Anyone Out There...

The declining Matt Kemp has hit .288/.331/.498 with a .210 ISO since June 1st, and the no good Nick Markakis is hitting .298/.350/.434 in his last 260 plate appearances.

    Is There Anyone Out There...

Markakis has always been a more productive and far more consistent hitter than Heyward. I don't care what FICA, WIFI, or WAR say.

    Is There Anyone Out There...

The Braves are in year 2 of the rebuild and have built one of the strongest farm systems in baseball. It starts there. Think about God's gift to GMs, Theo Epstein. It took him 5 years to build up the Cubs.

    Is There Anyone Out There...

You know who is going to be hard to move? Brian Snitker With the way he has this team playing, essentially ever since he took over for Fredi, I don't know how he wouldn't be the leading candidate for the job right now. The guy is simply in tune with his players from an emotional standpoint.

8/9 TUESDAY MINORS FINAL: Weigel simply having a great 2-016

I think the Braves could certainly justify skipping Weigel over Carolina and starting him at Mississippi to start 2017. I'd like to see Patrick Weigel, Max Povse, and Matt Withrow in the rotation at Pearl with Max Fried making a quick jump to AA if he starts out well in High A.

    GDT 8/8 BRAVES vs. BREWERS

Pitching to the radar gun is one of the big reasons there are so many UCL injuries. It's really a combination of a lot of things: 1. Pitching to the radar gun , that ultimately causes a pitcher to overthrow. I don't think many truly understand the biomechanical force that is applied to the...

8/9 TUESDAY MINORS FINAL: Weigel simply having a great 2-016

Pfft. He's going to Atlanta. LOL! I can't believe I forgot him. It's a slow day at the clinic though. I've almost fallen asleep twice in my office since lunch.

Withrow to DL/Chaz Roe called up

I can remember back in the 2005 draft, I was thinking that Atlanta would take either Chaz Roe or Colby Rasmus. They took Joey Devine instead.

8/9 TUESDAY MINORS FINAL: Weigel simply having a great 2-016

How is this for pitching staffs at successive levels? Carolina: Kolby Allard, Max Fried, Touki Toussaint, Patrick Weigel, and Ricardo Sanchez Rome: Ian Anderson, Joey Wentz, Kyle Muller, Bryce Wilson, and Jaret Hellinger/Luis Gamez I think at some point, you will see Fried and Weigel in...

    GDT 8/8 BRAVES vs. BREWERS

Ever since Snit took over, the mentality and attitude of this team has changed. There is a lot of positive energy flowing in that clubhouse now, and that was not the case before Snit.
