It takes 3 catchers minimum to get through a 162 game season. So a vet of some sort has to be brought in. Someone like Vogt, cheap but somewhat productive is probably ideal.

If the Defense is as advertised, he should be a quality starting catcher. Great D and legit pop go a long ways.
