Nashville looking like serious contender for a new team

Yeah seriously... We need more real fans. The kind of fan who enjoys cosplaying when going to their sporting events. The kind who unironically wear Ed Hardy merchandise. The kind who thinks that WAR is an awesome Ozzy Osbourne song and forget that "Pigs" is also part of the title. The kind...

Nashville looking like serious contender for a new team

Thought about coming back and posting some tomorrow. After this thread, I know I will.

What Would A "Fair" Freeman Extension Look Like?

I'm fairly confident in B. Many of the guys mentioned above have routinely put up OPS's >.850 against either lefties or righties. Getting a combo that could combine for .850+ production shouldn't be either difficult or expensive. If B is true, I don't particularly care that much about A. By...

What Would A "Fair" Freeman Extension Look Like?

Enscheff is right. You're thinking in terms of finding someone who has been strictly a 1st baseman their whole career. In reality, you can teach almost any MLB position player to play first base. If you're in a spot where you have to fill a hole at first, its probably a better idea to find...

What Would A "Fair" Freeman Extension Look Like?

12 million is unreasonably nitty on a Freeman contract. We could pay him close to what he's making now for a few years an still probably end up with some value out of him. Its just the idea of him getting a 4-5 year extension at 25-30 million that scares me. But knowing what I know about AA...

What Would A "Fair" Freeman Extension Look Like?

I wouldn't be totally opposed to extending Freeman to his age 34 or mayyybbbeee 35 season for a reasonable number (~25 million). The problem is that its really not a great idea to invest large long term resources into a first baseman, especially an older first baseman. They don't age...

    C. Yelich possibly re-upping with brewers 9yr/$215

Absolutely NOTHING?! I'm pretty sure that there is nothing duplicitous going on when I'm dropping a deuce. It is what it is.

    Riley vs Camargo

I tend to agree that Riley becoming a viable thing would be the best thing for this team, as it would allow Camargo to develop as a super-utility option. I'm not in love with Camargo as a starter, but I think he has a chance to develop into one of the best bench bats in the league.

    Riley vs Camargo

Honestly I think both of them need to improve substantially, so they really need AIDS to help them get better.

    Riley vs Camargo

Its still way too early to infer much of anything, but I think its encouraging that Riley only has 2 K's through 16 plate appearances. That's one major concern with him so if he can make it through the spring while making consistent contact, I think that bodes well for his playing time...

    Spring has Sprung

I'm 29 and I get winded lifting my peepee up in order to take a whizz. I can't imagine swinging a bat that is almost twice as big as my peepee.

GDT: Braves vs Orioles. Game on MLB Network at 1 pm

ST has been an unparalleled disaster. Its time to start thinking about a rebuild.

GDT: Braves vs Orioles. Game on MLB Network at 1 pm

Its early in spring. Its possible that he was only throwing at 85-90% of max effort in order to slowly build up to full strength.

Indeed. I really enjoy talking to Beanie. In fact, he's probably in my top 10 favorite people ever.

Did you see the video of him taking BP? The ball just explodes off his bat. If he had the ability to play quality defense at literally any position, I think he'd be one of the fastest rising prospects in baseball.

GDT: Braves vs Orioles. Game on MLB Network at 1 pm

He feels like more of an AL-friendly prospect, but I think he has a chance to be a top 100 prospect at some point. At this point he's probably my favorite non-top 100 prospect in our system right now.

Bryce Ball is gonna be a freaking beast. I don't know how advanced his hit tool is, but the dude's power is ridiculous.

GDT: O's @ Braves : Spring Training Opener

Man its pretty easy to dream on this bullpen that we have. The top 6 of Smith, O'day, Martin, Greene, Melancon, and Jackson is pretty filthy, but we also have a bunch of high upside quality youth behind those guys. If we could hit on a couple guys like Davidson, Sobotka, Ynoa, Minter, Weigel...

GDT: O's @ Braves : Spring Training Opener

So now that Felix has dominated 2 innings against the Orioles, are you all convinced that he is going to be the NL Cy Young? Cause I'm all on board, choo choo
