GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 2

So Lopez now probably unavailable to start any game vs SD. Sale maybe hurt. SS started today. Morton yesterday. Seriously…it’s Fried and who again???

GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 2

Ok, so the Mets are obviously trying everything in their power to lose this game.

GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 1

Strength turns into weakness at the most crucial moment…same old Braves

GDT 9/29/24: Braves vs Royals - Win and we're in

I‘m ready for Morton‘s career as a Brave to be over. Like, this very minute.

GDT 9/29/24: Braves vs Royals - Win and we're in

So I haven’t had time to catch up on the math. Is there any scenario in which we don‘t have to pla the DH tomorrow? Do we really have to root for a Mets win today? (Coupled with a Braves win, of course)

GDT 9/20 Charlie. And Hell travels with him.

Please, 2024 Braves, just disappear from existence. You are terrible, and the sooner we can start erasing you from memory, the better.

    Fire Brian snitker!

I hate it too. But it's the "Braves' way". Loyalty and respect towards longtime employees.

    Fire Brian snitker!

I agree he hasn't...but I feel that in the eyes of the organization, he has been loyal enough that he gets to retire on his own terms. They may urge him to retire soon behind closed doors, but I feel like they will give him that farewell.

    Fire Brian snitker!

I can't imagine he'll be fired in the off-season. They would announce his "retirement" well before the end of the season, to grant him a Bobby Cox like farewell. I doubt they would just kick him out. Best case scenario is that he moves to a FO position where he can't do any damage. More likely...

GDT 9/17 Kenny Powers at the small park

One part of me wants this infuriating team to miss the playoffs. However, the other part recognizes that they can still be dangerous in the playoffs, and there's no truly dominant team out there. The whole thing is up for grabs.

GDT 9/16/24: Braves vs Dodgers - Laureano in the lineup

If you looked ahead at the week on Sunday afternoon, what would you have thought was the more predictable outcome: the FED lowering interest rates, or the Braves blowing two winnable games in a row when they had a golden chance to take the series? I think you could go either way. I...

GDT 9/14/24: Braves vs Dodgers - Big Sale Starts Tonight

Come on…you know how I meant that. Though I admit it could have been worded better.

GDT 9/14/24: Braves vs Dodgers - Big Sale Starts Tonight

Logic says they‘ll take at least one of the two. Heart says it’s going to be a split.

    Looking towards 2025

I don't mind the Kelenic deal so much, even though I see little chance that it will turn into a net positive for the Braves. I like to judge the offseason as a whole, and AA got TWO Cy Young candidates for next to nothing. Tough to bat 1.000 when you make these types of moves. Soler, on the...

    Looking towards 2025

Absolutely. I find it amusing that folks here are again dishing out big imaginary FA contracts. Have you not followed this team over the last few years (decades)? There's probably going to be a few smaller deals to improve the team at the fringes, maybe one high risk / high reward move, and a...

GDT 8/29/24: Braves @ Phillies - Urshela MIA?

So even if he knew Marsh was going to hit a homer, he wouldn't have been sure whether to take Morton out? Snit really is next-level dumb. I'd really like to hear an honest assesment from a player what he brings to the table. I understand the warm blanket feeling of a manager who players feel...

    Phillies game 3

Hard to imagine a more impressive inning of relief than what Iglesias did in the 9th. Boy was I wrong on him early in the season.

GDT 8/6/24: Braves vs Brewers - Get it together for Elder

So when you ask your 8th grader „How much is 12 x 7?“, and all you get in return is a blank stare, your first impulse is to look at the math teacher?? You don‘t think there may be something wrong with the kid on a deeper level? So when a guy who set the Atlanta record for homers last season...

GDT 8/6/24: Braves vs Brewers - Get it together for Elder

These guys suddenly suck at the most basic thing they have been doing their entire careers: hitting a baseball. I don‘t see how you can blame that on a lack of leadership. When an 8th grader is suddenly unable to perform simple multiplication, you don‘t question the ability of the math teacher...
