I agree he hasn't...but I feel that in the eyes of the organization, he has been loyal enough that he gets to retire on his own terms. They may urge him to retire soon behind closed doors, but I feel like they will give him that farewell.

I can't imagine he'll be fired in the off-season. They would announce his "retirement" well before the end of the season, to grant him a Bobby Cox like farewell. I doubt they would just kick him out. Best case scenario is that he moves to a FO position where he can't do any damage. More likely...
