    GDT: 2/25/17 Spring Opener!

680thefan is supposed to be broadcasting the game, but the site says there's no streaming.

MLB sends 2 new rule changes to Union

That sounds like one of Bud Selig's brilliant ideas. I can live with the intentional walk change, but I don't see how giving the visiting team a free double in extra innings makes any sense. Would it only be at the top of the 10th inning or at the start of all subsequent innings? Either way...

MLB sends 2 new rule changes to Union

I dislike rule 1. A lot can go wrong during the baseball's trip to home plate. The pitcher should have to actually throw balls and the catcher catch them. Raising the strike zone is fine with me. It used to be knees to letters. I'd go back to that.

    Braves sign Kris Medlen

Great news! I hope he makes the trip north in April and has a solid year.

    Hall of Fame Drama Tonight

It looks like a lot of the new voters are looking at the players strongly suspected of PEDs use and voting for those who were having HOF caliber careers before steroids. That is good news for Bonds and Clemens. I think we will see 3 or 4 players elected again next year. Chipper is in easily...

    Braves sign boyer

I've been hoping we would sign Boyer. He's not as young as he used to be, but I think he can still help us. It's good to have him back.

    Winkler

From Fangraphs: http://www.fangraphs.com/library/rule-5-draft/ "Rule 5 Draft draftees must stay on the MLB roster all season. If they go to the DL, they must be active for at least 90 days — so if the draftee misses a whole season, they must be on the active roster for 90 days the following...

    Poor Tyrell Jenkins...

According to BBRef, he has 82 days of MLB service time, so isn't that enough for the pension, or does he need 43 more, 125 days total?

    YNOT - 2017

Count me in. 2017 should be a fun year.

    Braves Trade Jenkins to Rangers

I would bring him back in a heartbeat. While I agree with those who said he probably needed a change of scenery, he is too good a kid to not give him one more shot. If he doesn't come back to Atlanta, I hope he catches on elsewhere and goes on to have a long and successful career in MLB.

    Well Here It Is

The e-mail scandal was her own fault. Nobody forced her to keep classified information on her own private server. The voting machines were not networked, so how could the Russians or anyone else have hacked them?

    Well Here It Is

I don't think Russia cost Hillary the election. She lost on her own. Russia did not make her keep classified information on a private server in her bathroom. Russia did not make her call one fourth of the American electorate deplorable and irredeemable and Russia did not make her basically...

Braves sign Jordan Walden to minor league deal

Good low-risk move. Walden was very good for us. If he stays healthy, he could be a key piece of our bullpen.

    3rd Debate

You want to eliminate virtually all of the jobs in America. Brilliant.

    3rd Debate

That makes no sense at all, unless mediocrity is your goal. Why do you want to punish people for being financially successful (wealthy)? If two thirds is not enough, how much is enough?

    3rd Debate

HRC said again tonight that the wealthy need to pay their fair share in taxes. The top 10% already pay 2/3 of the income taxes. I wish she would say what she thinks is fair. Is it 80%? 90%? 100%?

    Dodgers Sign Brandon Beachy (sigh)

I'm all for giving Beachy another shot on a minor league deal. He was good for us when he was healthy. I'd sign him and pray for a miraculous return to anything close to his old self.

Nice move. JJ has been solid for us this year.

10/2 GDT: Draft Pick-a-looza vs Tigers

If Dansby has 130 ABs he is still a rookie next year: Determining rookie status: A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active...
