    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

If someone is throwing rocks, they should be arrested. But I can’t help but notice that a lot of the time that there’s a video showing ICE or CBP agents responding violently to anything in public there just so happened to have been violence aimed at those agents that happened just off-screen...

    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Even if you reject the framing in the tweet here (which is fair because I don’t see it sourced properly and I don’t think it’s from the journalist thing), I simply can’t think of an explanation that justifies what I see in this video.

People like this absolute goober addressing the country on national security is just so pathetically sad.

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

You don’t think the fact that conservative voters made this a priority during the past election and the officials ran on releasing the files matters at all?

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

Being a good MAGA Patriot in 2025 requires you to demand that everybody but Trump and the Republican majority (minus Massie and sometimes MTG) do anything they can to release the Epstein files, but also to declare that anybody trying to do that legally is an enemy of the Administration.

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

How so? How is it much more plausible that Democrats spent years meticulously tampering with evidence and hiding their tampering of said evidence and then just didn’t use that in the election than it is that a guy who was friends with Epstein might show up unfavorably in the files?

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

You should maybe consider at least questioning why their votes are suddenly being bought to keep the files unreleased after they spent all that time demanding someone release them. And I’m not pro-Democrat here. It actually is equally troubling that the Dems suddenly grew a spine on Epstein...

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

I don’t think he’s implicated, at least not criminally. But I don’t need to assume anything to see that he’s been hiding, obfuscating and outright lying about his actions regarding the release of these files he’s campaigned on releasing.

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

I’m not sure that’s the line I’d be using with what Trump has done on this topic.

Any member of Congress who doesn’t sign on to his bill.

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

Trump and his supporters spent the entire last year doing the exact opposite. Were they grandstanding? You view everything through the lens of what’s good for the right wing political movement.

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

The Republicans changed their tune, not Massie.

When is the last time you saw an act of terrorism in your neighborhood? Or do you just see it on tv every day?

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

This one makes me laugh because the conversation simply changed. Massie never opposed the release of the Epstein files. It’s his party that betrayed him. I’m not a Massie Stan, but he’s pretty consistent.

This is a bold argument as Trump declares himself an expert at the causes of Autism and American farmers all go bankrupt.

    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

The difference between 2001 and now is when someone tells us terrorists are around every corner and the government needs complete autonomy to handle the threat, we know it’s fucking bullshit. It’s way past time that we get rid of the laws that allow the government to do so much to combat...

Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

Meh, he’s not really a grandstander still because soap boxing everything to reduce what the government does and spends is the only lever he has to pull. Massie’s whole deal is less spending and less government. Voting against and arguing against that spending and governing is an action.

Not in the fucking streets, man. People have been misinterpreting the hell out of the 3rd Amendment, but there *is* a reason it was there.

    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

These are fundamentally different sets of processes, and gives Trump completely different leverage to play his “do what I want now” schtick. Nobody actually wants to keep spending on wars. They want the other side to give in so they can stop being at war. If Trump applies pressure, it only...
