Bottom line to this narrative is neither was convicted. If signing Bauer would give more likelyhood to Braves winning another WS, Im all for it. Especially considering his (hopeful) performance/contributions at cost of $720K versus Ozuna/s hopeful performance (at best) at cost of $18M.

Just for your info and Im not 100% sure but I believe the most he could get from Korea team in first year would be $1m. Doubt he would go there for a $280K difference. Suspect Mexico would be even less but know nothing about Japan.

Honestly, no more chance of signing Bauer than any of those others we fans wished for. Correa, Dansby, Turner, Nimmo, Conforto, and on and on. We are unfortunately not sitting upstairs at Truist much less with access to the checkbook.

For the $700K he can always be released and I doubt he would be the only release this year anyway. He has to learn sometime and I would bet he knows he has to keep his mouth shut if he wants a significant deal in 2024.

Lots of fan reasons to take a flyer on Bauer. Not the best solution but certainly should be looked at. Braves are way too talented (and pricey) at this time to not take a chance on a TOR pitcher (at least he was before suspension) for 700K.

Right now today, there are several players on the Braves roster that have to be considered untouchable. Wright is one of those.

The $22M owed to Bauer would put Braves up to $255M 2nd tier of tax. Still questions at SS and LF.

IIRC after suspension is finished Bauer will be due $22M.

I think it would be a mistake not to consider a trade. Many posters want to just DFA Ozuna. If that is viable to AA then if things PR wise turn into a problem it would be just as easy to release Bauer if needed.
