Lots of billionaires in this world but how many would be interested in ownership if the prices for a franchise keeps skyrocketing. Seems to me MLB and MLBPA are both somewhat concerned with baseball becoming a corporate ownership thing.

I wonder how Albies and Acuna reacted to Riley, Harris and Strider contracts (Olson too) and how would they react to a $200m contract for Swanson.

I think if you research deep enough you will find that it depends on the state laws. I never earned a dime in Maryland while in the Army and after retiring maintained family and residence in NC but worked 4-10 days per month in Maryland where employer was based and checks came from. Because of...

Lots to like about Conforto but after a year off, older, etc, do you really want to bet on him correcting the LF problem?

iirc the Marlins owner deliberately cashed in everything to win the WS so he could get a more hefty sale price.

Those 3 million fans came to Truist this year because of that 21 WS. Drop off the edge or fail to compete the 3 mil will suddenly shrink.

Stolen bases are going to be a big part of baseball next season. Maybe Contreras arm is less than desired.

tomahawk take has a great article about the Braves pursuit of Reynolds if someone can pull it up.

Braves may have paid the Odorozzi money this year before closing out annual books but for CBA issue it still counts as 2023 payroll. See Cots contracts. Bottom right side of Braves page.

    1. He could be a very huge benefit to encourage some team to take on Ozunas contract. 2. He could enable AA to pick up a true SS possibly for even the same small amount of money. That SS (only a possibility) would be more than Grissom or Arcia could bring back. 3. We all wonder why AA hasnt...

The point I was trying to make is that some things are obvious and others want to deny them. Just like you right now being so adamant that Albies is all there is. Rumors come from somewhere all the time. MLB writers are full time on the phone and internet looking for rumors. Bloggers I dont...

Oh some 6 weeks ago or so I was booed of this forum by suggesting Albies as a trade chip. Here it is 96 hours away from the winter meeting and Tim Boyle of Fansided says any one of the three 2nd basemen is a potential trade with St Louis. Not 6 hours later MLBTR saying Mariners are looking for...

By watching off seasons for many many years, reading multiple newspapers every day when reporters had access, and acknowledging the fact that Atlanta Braves are the only truly corporate entitiy thereby answering to shareholders and not a billionaire owner,.

WE MAY KNOW something by opening day of next season but there is no need to guess what and who will be Braves next year until a determination is made on Ozuna and maybe Rosario.

What is so difficult to decipher? AA has limited money at the moment. Less than $10M away from luxury tax. He, unfortunately also, has limited trade chips.

Thanks. I hadn't heard that one. Just for consideration. Wasnt there some hard feelings reported re: AA and Casey Close, owner of Swansons agency. Imo Heyman doesnt spend much time on Braves issues. Could it be a leak from the agents side? Just doesnt fit the operating standard of AA to...

Too many of us tend to over-value prospects especially ours. I agree with your premise but I will re visit an earlier speculation if Brewers should reposition on Burns and Adames. Id offer up Albies and Anderson and a few lower level prospects.

Brewers traded Hader to avoid huge arb price, Same has been said about Burns and Adames tho lately owner has down played moving them. Has Stearns been replaced yet. Reynolds trade from Pittsburgh fans gets same response as does a trade for Acuna. Several weeks ago Jays bounced trading one of...
