Would anyone consider a Swanson for Gleyber Torres trade? Or Swanson for German Marquez? I feel that AA is trying to move Ozuna in order to fill some of the existing voids. Padres are rooted in my brain with a Wil Myers plus a SP for Ozuna deal.

I dont recall ANY player ever saying "I dont want to play here anymore." There have been a few who demanded to be traded but none were ever willing to negate a contract. First basemen have always been the easiest to replace. I believe this is an Atlanta Braves site. Not a Freddie Freeman site...

Well that is my point again. I doubt they will risk him DHing and running the bases. May PH for awhile if they have enough roster to pinch run for him.

I know but Im amazed that most on here are happy with Ozuna and Duvall along with the possibility of Soler and Heredia in the lineup at the same time.

With FF gone the draft pick is available as soon as he signs which makes Conforto in CF somewhat more reasonable.

Ozuna is an ineffective OFer with cost. As a DH trade chip he could bring in other position trades. Then you can take your pick of any of the available FA DHs and money is there also. Moving Ozuna would open you up to guys like Conforto, Schwarber, as well. Just as an aside: Any high paid...

Soler, Rosario and Castellanos would all require moving Ozuna IMO. Money available now possibly means AA can move up a few notches from Greinke.

Absolutely no viable reason to sign Freddie now. Also Im sure AA called Freddie before closing the deal with the A's.

Sign Soler then look at new homes for Duvall and Ozuna. Continue shopping.

Kinda easy to see maybe Lango moving. No other reason to sign Pina for 2 years unless TDA and Contreras were acceptable for next 2 years.

Agree and that is why I think Freddie feels he has AA over the barrel but us outsiders know AA never folds under pressure. J/K. I still feel it is 50/50 that FF comes back but then I also remember last year when he was late reporting to spring training as well.

Ever the optomist I see. But without sounding like a pessimist, when I look at TODAYS roster I have doubts about even making the playoffs.

Just what trade chips does AA have to offer for Olson? Move Riley to 1b then what are options for 3rd? If Freddie goes to LA, is Ozzie our only LH hitter? Also, LH is not Ozzies strong side. Lots of FA fits still available EXCEPT 1b options!

Its not so much Ozuna being a trade chip as it is making room for Pache. Our next super star.
