He had his mentor (Chipper) in his ear warning him. He knew the risks and still gambled. Hard to feel badly for someone when they knowingly did this to themselves. Anyways, it worked out for the best and we’re likely better off for it.
If we don’t see Acuña for 2-3 weeks, we need another outfield bat. Also we have no idea how Ozuna will perform after being away from mlb pitching for a year. Plus it’s nice to have insurance against a random injury.
I’ll believe it when I see it. SD and Atlanta were the only remaining teams in on Soler? Miami was at one point, but not sure if they still are. Voigt is set to make a little north of 5mm this season. Without purging money, I’m not sure how SD can afford Soler. Is there anyone else in on him...
One of our writers said the other day we have 15 million left to spend. Since then, we signed McHugh and Rosario for around that amount. Also, AA said he wanted to have our roster complete prior to the first spring training game. All signs point to us being done.
AA recently said he wanted to round out his roster before spring training started. I believe games start tomorrow so my guess is he’s done. Although he may round out the roster as players get cut elsewhere. But I don’t think we see anything major happen.
Well, barring something weird, I think our offense, outside of maybe a bench piece, is done. Outfield defense will be the weakest part of the team this year. Next up, another starter and maybe a bench piece and then I think we're done.
Outside of Conforto, who is everyone's preference for the last outfield spot? I'm assuming we can only sign one more outfield bat.
Soler is the best bat but offers meh defense. Joc offers above average defense and can play center but meh offense. And Rosario is probably somewhere in between in...
It's a shame Freeman won't take a 1 year deal and try again next season. Lol it's also a shame we couldn't find 40mm laying around to throw at him for a season. DH Olson, move Ozuna to left, and then just deal with whatever holes we have in the outfield this season. We'd legit mash everyone to...
Shift the entire outfield to one side and have the lf or rf play deep in the hole behind the infield dirt. If teams were ok with leaving first/third base wide open in the infield, I'm sure they'll be fine leaving the lf/rf line wide open now at the expense of plugging the hole between 3rd and ss...
