Brad Miller and Asdrubal Cabrera are both predicted to be worth 0.6 WAR themselves, but no we couldn't spend $2MM for either of those, we must shop the minor league scrap isle and buy crap.

Looks like our most likely bench, assuming Pache starts in center, is Adrianza, Kipnis, Camargo, Inciarte, and either Jackson or Contreras. Fangraphs pegs them for a combined 0.6 WAR. That's a pitiful bench. And if Inciarte starts in center, I reckon I could find my old glove in the attic and...

Regardless of how they project his WAR for 2021, it is half of what he did (extrapolated out) last year. So if you want to say the drop in WAR is completely from a drop in projected offensive output, so be it.

Braves win the arb case over Dansby, he'll make $6MM versus the $6.7MM he filed for.

Ozuna was worth 2.6 WAR in 2020 extrapolated to 7 WAR over 162 games. Fangraphs predicts he'll be worth 3.4 WAR this year. That's a 3.6 WAR dropoff due to an almost certain decline in production from his otherworldly 60 games last year, but mostly because his negative defense having to roam left...

Fangraphs predicts Soroka/Morton/Smyly/Anderson to combine for 7.5 WAR in 2021. The combination of Soroka/Anderson/Wright/Wilson combined for 2.2 WAR in 2020 extrapolated to 6 WAR over the same 162 games. That would be a 1.5 WAR improvement over last year. Still doesn't make up for the bullpen...

I don't know how you can say that. Yes the additions of Morton and Smyly should help the rotation, but our bench is definitely worse, and we lost Melancon/Greene/O'Day from the bullpen who combined for 66.2 innings with a 2.29 era and 2.7 war. I'd say at best we might be as good.

What part of that would draw you to the conclusion that I'm losing my mind over them potentially signing Rosenthal? I clearly stated that the Mets have dramatically improved their roster, with Trevor being just one part of the improvement. Having said that, I would rather have Rosenthal on our...

Mets about to get Rosenthal. Damnit. They have dramatically improved while we are content with minor league signing bull****.

This is I've been fearing since we've seen so many good options go to other teams. I think money is very tight and AA shot his wad on Smiley.

If signing Kipnis is just a plan C option this is fine, but if he is all AA is going to do to improve the bench, then 🤮

We also have Victor Arano, Carl Edwards Jr and Nate Jones, all right handers with prior success vying for a spot.

Meanwhile we continue to do nothing to improve the very weak bench, and the pen could use one more good arm.

You may be right, that is certainly a possibility and would make sense given no other moves fringe moves yet. I hope that's the case.
