2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Josh was very gracious in his reaction to this, mostly likely because he is a good kid, and the alternative, going to Auburn, was just as appealing to him as was being a Brave. This could have turned ugly. And while I understand there are moving parts to getting all the guys signed, this type...

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to set up a spreadsheet with all our draftees and their signing amounts, with the total at the bottom. A 3rd grader could put it together. Our scouting department screwed something simple like that up, actually called a guy and offered him a contract with...

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

I agree, after the baffling Anthony screwup, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they don't have enough left to sign Neslony.

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

 Holy ****, how in the world could he not have known how much money he had available. Just Wow.

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Yep, any way you slice it, we ****ed up and it is something that simply should not happen.

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

So why in the world didn't we know we couldn't pull the other offer? It's bad when an organization doesn't know the rules, and the fact we didn't check to see if this could be done before we offered a contract to Anthony is down right embarrassing.

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Overall well done and a strong draft. However, the Anthony loss/blunder takes some of the shine off.

    Snit

Snit pulls all his pitchers way too early and often.

2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Bottom line, we should have never offered Anthony a contract if we had any doubt as to whether we could honer it. Poor judgement/business on our part, plain and simple.

    LOSER THREAD

Checking in. I also cannot actively root for us to lose, however this is a lost year, and there is no question the higher the draft position we get for the 2017 draft, the better. So I hope to see improvement from the young guys, especially down on the farm, but understand the losses this year...

Is it too early to Stalk the 2017 Draft?

I don't give a damn who we select for our top pick next year, as long as it's not a ****ing pitcher.

Good catch, does take some of the sting out of that rotten deal.

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Our draft comes down to Anderson, Wentz, Muller and Cumberland. We spent the preponderance of our draft money on those 4, and we'll be fortunate if we happen to get anything at all from any other pick. My personal early opinion, while the 3 arms appear to have quite a high ceiling, overall I'm...

    - STARTS TODAY AT 7PM - 2016 June Amateur Draft Discussion

With due respect, I don't think this line of reasoning makes any sense. All farm systems have their better prospects spread out across several levels. But since ours is supposedly better than most, we should have more "good prospects" than other systems to spread around the various levels...

    - STARTS TODAY AT 7PM - 2016 June Amateur Draft Discussion

Our farm system is rated by pretty much everyone as a top 5 system, so it would stand to reason that we must have a lot of talent that should translate to a lot of minor league wins, yet for some strange reason all 4 of our teams are poor, all with losing records. Gwinnett is 25-32, Mississippi...

5/30 GDT BRAVES HOLIDAY THREAD VS GIANTS (1:10 start)

Agree, taking Folty out after 89 pitches, pitching so well, is absolutely moronic. Snitker is clueless regarding when to remove his starter.

    Olivera Suspended Until August 1

What he allegedly did and this subsequent suspension, while obviously bad, could never have been anticipated. However, the glaring holes in his swing, and his serious lack of defensive abilities most definitely should have been seen by our scouts/FO and the trade should never have happened...
