Why Academics Leftists and Elitists Need to Treat Ordinary Americans With Respect

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/10/19/colleges-universities-viewpoint-diversity-trump/ In the wider world, asking whether academia really skews left makes you look like an idiot or, slightly more charitably, like someone so encased in a bubble that they don’t even know what they’re...

    2028

It’s just Heather Richardson Cox nailing the moment once again. See her musings on (R) using “cheap fakes” to make Biden look infirm in the days prior to the Trump-Biden debate, or her insistence that the Charlie Kirk killer was right wing, and you’ll know what you’re dealing with.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5562017-cuomo-attacks-sliwa-mamdani/ New York mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo (I) on Sunday said his Republican opponent Curtis Sliwa is “a spoiler” for the race, while also slamming Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani. “Zohran, he’s not a Democrat. By the...

    Affordable Care Act

https://www.wsj.com/opinion/deregulation-can-make-medications-cheaper-8ce81633 When politicians such as President Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders want to lower pharmaceutical prices, they resort to heavy-handed approaches through mandates. While that approach is direct and at least superficially...

    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

To be fair, it was the Young Republicans…their membership includes people up to 40 years old. I believe one person implicated in the scandal was a state senator. I’d say on balance, (R) is doing a better job responding to this than (D) is to that whacko in the Virginia race. There have been...

Bessent might as well put on the red nose and ride out on a unicycle. Most (R) leaning people would rightly call out the left for this sort of rhetorical nonsense.

It’s a “tariff for thee, not for me” scenario. If the premise of the tariff is to raise the world price to boost domestic production, then handing out exemptions only delays that goal. (Assuming the tariff can actually achieve that goal, which is dubious, given historical precedent)

I’d like to think so, but sadly MAGA is going the way of the left, where intentions are prioritized over results, and adherents would rather shout bumper stickers (or say nothing at all) than actually make a coherent defense of these policies.
