If the Dodgers win it all, I predict Roberts will retire and Lehman will be the new Dodgers' manager. Snitker was nowhere close to being a genius when it came to in-game maneuvers. I thought his bullpen usage patterns were odd more than anything that he did with the bench largely because...

Good question. Anthopoulos can be a sphinx on a lot of issues and I would be curious to see his answer to this question.

Angels are hiring Kurt Suzuki as manager. I haven't heard that name for any of the managerial openings. In fairness, last time I heard Suzuki's name is when the Braves' announcers mentioned him when he last played for the Braves in 2018.

Cardinals have a few infield prospects so I think they'd take pitching over Alvarez. I'm curious what the Braves are planning with Alvarez. He's off to a good start in the Arizona Fall League (not that it means much) but the Braves supposedly want to keep him at 3B and not test any positional...

Believe me, it was tough being a Braves' fan up here in Minnesota during the 1991 World Series. Hrbek channeling Dick Butkus was only a part of it. Lonnie Smith falling for Knoblauch's deke was a brain-fart for all time. Of course, if Otis Nixon hadn't had his nose injury late in the season...

I agree and imagine it's a challenge. The manager really has to instill a team-first attitude in the bullpen and for guys who like to rack up easy saves some convincing may be required. I don't know what factors arbitrators use when making their rulings, but I hope they look well beyond...

Not me. My World Series fandom flipped a switch in the last three innings last night. I went from all-in on the Mariners to cheering for the Dodgers. Blue Jays has been my least favorite team for decades. It probably dates back to 1992.

I think there's a little more to it than that, but I agree it's pretty clear that the front office and the dugout are on the same page, especially as it relates to load management. In-game management has changed a lot over the years. The establishment of the DH has clearly made a big...

Not averse to obtaining Gray depending on the balance or salary we would absorb versus prospect capital we would send to the Cardinals; take more salary sending less in terms of prospects or more prospects and less salary. Cardinals have puzzled me that last few years. It seems they should be...

Agree. I'm old. I've seen almost all my favorite teams win championships and my favorite players do amazing things. Sometimes, you just have to sit back and enjoy greatness whenever it happens and realize how special that performance is. We can hate on the Dodgers for the size of their...

They remind me of a couple of Braves' teams during the streak that had the pieces to rack up wins in the regular season but wilted a bit in the post-season. A lot of things went right for the Brewers this year. Bottom part of the order is really light.

True on the coke aspect. It's funny. I don't think I can name a Taylor Swift song other that "Shake It" but I enjoyed most music pre-2000 (and some things produced since but I don't listen to it much). I was nearing and into my 40s in the 1990s and I loved a lot of the new stuff that came out...

That's alright. My view--looking both forward and back--is that each generation has its gifts and challenges. I've reached the age where I am a relic with those I work with, but it keeps me aware of the challenges that the generations that have followed mine are facing.

Boomers are mostly 1960s and 1970s music, but a lot of the 1980s movies were written by Boomers and starred X-ers.
