    2025-2026 offseason thread

The fact that Lehman has advanced to becoming the bench coach of the Dodgers at such a relatively young age is impressive in itself. That's a prestigious position. The Dodgers take winning very serious and obviously saw enough in him to feel like he was a good fit for that spot.

FWIW, I haven't seen Lombard or Lehmann linked to any other current manager openings. Doesnt necessarily mean anything, but interesting to the direction other teams are looking at.

I feel like it's quite possible he already interviewed Lehmann or at least has initial contact with him. The Braves are so secretive so we'll never know. But Bowman usually gets sprinkled a few breadcrumbs and he put out an article speculating he's in the mix so it adds up.

The thing about Lehmen is, he's had multiple years of on the job training from the premier organization in the league. It's a total unknown right now, but just have to hope he is going to be good with managing the clubhouse and keeping everyone happy. I always think back to how AA spent those...

Honestly this is the best possible outcome, considering what's available. A bit surprised there isn't even a token mention of Melvin or Baldelli though.

On that note, I actually think Dave Roberts is a robot. The front office clearly makes every decision there.

Also feel like that needs to be a pre-requisite in today's game. If for no other reason than to be able to form a deeper connection with half the roster.

Not sure but I am a bit surprised nothing has leaked out even as far as someone having interviewed or being requested for an interview. Just saw the Padres already had two potential candidates linked to them. Including old friend Flaherty.

Well Dodgers bench coach Danny Lehmann was mentioned as an option and he might not be available until after. He's someone AA crossed paths with during his time in LA.

Plus you just don't know if Wheeler will ever be the same. They are going to have to spend a ton this off season just to get close to the level they were at this year.

While I do agree for the most part, my opinion is that certain fan bases are more complacent and accepting of mediocrity. I do believe that rubs off on the players in some ways. It's just the playoffs have become such a crap shoot that you can't really use them as evidence of anything.

I get it. And obviously the legion of lunatics is a small subset of the entire fan base. Clearly everyone doesn't behave that way. I just wish there was more urgency to win in Atlanta.

As a New Yorker, I could see why people would feel this way about NYC. In my own observation, Yankees fans are certainly elitist, acting like they are the only thing that matters, and their writers are a different breed. But NYC is a different type of place. There is a passion that runs deeply...

Bob Melvin address his future. Found this part interesting. There’s a number of vacancies all around baseball (including attractive jobs in places like Atlanta and Baltimore), and a three-time Manager of the Year with 1678 wins under his belt seems certain to be an attractive potential...

If you read the quotes in this article from when Ross was hired by the Cubs, it doesn't sound like he's necessarily someone who's embraced the modern game. Sure, this is 2019 and he surely could have grown since then. And to being directed by upper management, Theo said: “If you want to hire a...

Do y'all think it's possible for the Braves to ever become a window-less team, ala the Dodgers n Yankees?

Yes, simply because the Braves have shown a commitment to be a top 10 payroll, are generating their own revenue from the Battery, and have less revenue uncertainty through their TV contract than others. It really does feel like the gap between the haves and have nots is widening, and the...
