    Official Draft Day, Post-Draft Thread

Garrett Mitchell is also available, Baseball America's #62 overall, high school OF. I hope we can grab Enlow.

    Official Draft Day, Post-Draft Thread

A college pitching prospect with true ace potential and a switch hitting high school outfielder with among the best bat speed (MLB pipeline said he had the top exit velocity on the HS circuit last year) in this class and defensively can be a plus defender in CF? Hell of a top two so far. We...

If McKay can actually play RF, I'd be elated to have him at pick 5. There are pretty good odds that he has the most special bat in this draft.

Yeah, I almost didn't see him either, he was so far down the list. I think Keith Law just wants to stand out. 50 is outlandishly low for Adell. Some of the guys Law has ranked above Adell make no sense. For example, he has Adam Oviedo 4 spots ahead of Adell, whom Baseball America has ranked...

    Official pre-Draft thread

That's not true. Adell is there at #50 on Keith Law's big board: This is him on Beck He has Haseley very high: I am willing to take a risk for possible huge upside. Give me Beck or Adell. Baseball America has Adell at #7, Haseley at #8, Beck at #9. I trust Baseball America above everyone else.

MLB Pipeline has Austin Beck listed as 5'11", 175lbs. Surely that can't be true?

TUESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/30 ... Medlen starts for Miss.

Could you be anymore childish? I've never seen anyone so anal about any issue in my life.

    Official pre-Draft thread

The guy I want now is Lewis. He supposedly has the best work ethic and character in the class and put up a nice batting line facing some of the most talented high school talent of any region in the country. Adell supposedly didn't face a single pitcher who'd be better than a JuCo arm according...

MINORS THREAD TUESDAY 5/16: Harrington Seeks 5th Win

I think we are underestimating the effects of the season ending injury and recovery Albies has gone through. I am not convinced that he has fully recovered yet.

MINORS THREAD TUESDAY 5/16: Harrington Seeks 5th Win

That seriously blows, had no idea he got hurt. A facial fracture can't be an easy thing to recover from, especially mentally.

MINORS THREAD TUESDAY 5/16: Harrington Seeks 5th Win

Btw, our lone big money signing in 2014 was Juan Yepez, for I think $1 million. Acuna signed that year for $100k. Robles signed for $225k in 2013, another example of a lesser recognized prospect at the time who might end up one of the best players in his class. Along with the seven big bonus...

MINORS THREAD TUESDAY 5/16: Harrington Seeks 5th Win

Thanks, wasn't sure. So Albies was semi well regarded. Looks like we unearthed two treasures in both 2013 and 2014, outperforming many guys who signed for millions those years. That 2013 class was loaded, though: Eloy Jimenez, Gleyber Torres, Rafael Devers,Victor Robles, Sandy Alcantara...

MINORS THREAD TUESDAY 5/16: Harrington Seeks 5th Win

Nice couple of games in a row by Albies. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Didn't we sign both Albies and Acuna from the 2014 International signing class for a small bonus, around a measly $100k? I don't think either were on anyone's list of top international signees that year, as evidenced...

SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 5/14 ... 3 superlative starts

It would be a huge boon to our system if Sims has truly turned it around and becomes a viable #2 or #3 starter in the majors after having been relegated to almost non-prospect status this winter.

SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 5/14 ... 3 superlative starts

Acuna has gone completely bonkers at the plate. Four for five today with a double, no strikeouts. His 1.445 OPS in AA before today will actually go up, to 1.513 by my calculation lol. I believe his OPS for 2017, from Advanced A plus AA combined, will go up to .939 after today's game. Pretty...

SATURDAY MINORS THREAD 5/13: More Moves Soon

I think you are overrating Mallex a bit. Mallex isn't much better of a prospect than Seymour. Seymour is ouhitting Mallex this year and Seymour is actually younger compared to his league than Mallex is. I don't see either guy as an MLB regular but both could be useful 4th outfielders. And...

    Official pre-Draft thread

That is a terrible mock draft. Some of the stuff this guy says shows he isn't following the players performances that much. He has Adell dropping due to a high k rate this year, wtf. Exact opposite of reality. Lewis dropping to 22? Laughable. He says D.L. Hall is the top prep lefty in the draft...

    Official pre-Draft thread

Wright would be a great pick, a true ace potential arm, which is pretty rare. He'd instantly be the highest upside arm in our system. I don't think we have a single pitcher projected with true ace potential. Allard and Anderson are both said to be #2 potentials, though I think it's really...

    Official pre-Draft thread

About two weeks ago places were saying Beck to the Rays was almost a certainty. But now, all the mock drafts, some from the very places that said the Rays were completely locked in on Beck, have the Rays bypassing him. What gives? BTW, I am feeling much better about the draft now that adell is...

    Official pre-Draft thread

I might be gullible, but I actually believe the Braves when they say Anderson was their top rated arm in the 2016 draft. He has certainly outpitched Riley Pint and Jason (Jay) Groome so far in their minor league careers and those two are the only starting pitchers I saw rated above Anderson in...
