    Lots of raves for Ritchie.

Pretty much who he has been. He can’t locate his pitches. Misses the strike zone too often, and when he locates they live in the strike zone. It’s one thing to challenge hitters with a 97 mph fastball in the zone, it’s another when your slider and changeup live in the heart of the plate.

    2025 Spring Training Thread

The last season he pitched in the majors he had the worst k/bb rate. Walking a ton of guys and not striking anyone out. He was trending his way out of the majors BEFORE he got hurt. He was trending downward significantly ever since he made his debut but go ahead and argue numbers. You keep...

    2025 Spring Training Thread

He can’t spin a baseball. Soroka on the other hand gets elite spin, specifically on his slider. Anderson has never been able to develop a breaking pitch, never shown command, and it’s been 4 years since we saw his peak stuff which wasn’t that great to begin with. He is a big reason we won the...

    2025 Spring Training Thread

Soroka was very good out of the pen last year, that’s why he got that contract. His strikeout rate was elite, that’s something teams will look at and try to build off of. His slider is rated plus and he still has the arm strength and command that Anderson does not have. Anderson has no...

No. 0Ks in 3 innings and 2 walks. Can’t generate whiffs and the stuff doesn’t look like it’s going to generate whiffs in the future. He’s not a viable starter.

    Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Ian Anderson is done as a major leaguer. There’s just no upside there anymore. Appreciate him for what he did but that pitcher is long gone.

    Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

He was very good for a time, but a lot of us knew that was going to be short lived. He had no breaking ball or an ability to spin the baseball so you couldn’t even project the development of a breaking ball. His fastball wasn’t good but played up due to the effectiveness of his changeup. His...

    GDT 10/1/24 - Braves @ Padres - AJSS for WC Game 1

If he’s not throwing upper 90s like he was earlier this year then he’s the worst option to start possible.

GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 2

If you knew Sale was not available then Holmes should have started Game 1 and SS Game 2 only if we needed him. That logic would have made more sense.

GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 2

Anderson and AJSS both have terrible command, better off going with the guy with the better stuff.

GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 1

Mets have seen Schwellenbach now 3 times. Feels like this is when their offense finally gets something going against him while our offense sucks and we lose.

GDT 9/17 Kenny Powers at the small park

The only good thing about this season is that it’s become clear we should not throw boatloads of money at Fried and his departure won’t doom us. But other moves do need to be made.

Reports: Braves Acquire Jorge Soler And Luke Jackson From Giants

He had to get a bat and this is probably the best one he could have gotten and all it cost was money. The contract could probably be moved in the offseason if he really wanted to.

    GDT 7/8/24: Braves @ D-Backs - Guess Who's Back

How do you even let him walk back to back guys to load the bases? Should have been pulled once the game was tied.
