One would have thought the Braves would have been all about signing/trading for a SS and high end relievers last off-season. We didn't do jack shit. Just because a team is a good fit for a player, doesn't mean it should raise eye brows when that particular team doesn't have any interest in that...

LOL, just stop. Teams haven't all of sudden changed their opinion of this guy. It's the same data that has been available for months. You're acting like these teams don't have other options on the market.

What does that have to do with Imai? It's understood Imai has to sign by Friday. The Yanks haven't made any significant moves. The Mets haven't either. The Cubbies are letting their big star walk. Maybe they aren't interested in throwing around a ton of money this off-season. Or maybe they're...

They haven't thrown money at the top relievers, despite needing relievers. They haven't thrown money at any of the other top SPs right now either.

That's certainly debatable as to whether or not that revenue is significant or not. Ohtani is really the only Asian player we have heard about generating a ton of additonal revenue, beyond what is typical for a major league star. Maybe there was some chirping about Ichiro and Matsui back in...

What is a "good amount" of revenue? Enough to compensate for even half of the contract? I find that extremely unlikely. Especially 30 years ago when the internet was barely a thing. There isn't anything particularly special about Japanese players in general. The ones that have had huge Japanese...

You're missing the point. Scheff said "The extra revenue his presence generates probably pays for that contract by itself." I am simply pointing out that is only true if he's good. Not only that, but I don't know that I would say Yu Darvish has been wildly popular, despite being a Cy Young...

Then use Hideki Irabu. The point doesn't change. If he sucks, you aren't making any revenue on him.

Assuming he's good, that's true. If he's Kenshin Kawakami, he won't be generating any revenue.

The Pirates could actually field a competitive team next year. They've made some solid, low risk moves so far and don't appear to be done.

Ozuna certainly doesn't do much cardio. But he's pretty jacked overall.

The Shane Baz trade does complicate things a bit on the trade front. The Orioles were so dumb. And now teams are gonna point to that deal as the basis for what their SP is worth.

    Black Immigrants

In my small life experience I have on this subject between college and my work experience, educated African immigrants tend be very religious and almost entirely Christian. So it should not be too odd that they vote Republican at high rates.

Not really that sad if he hits like he did pre-injury. That's a top 15ish hitter in baseball. If he hits like he did post injury, he is not one of our 5 best hitters.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

10/5 rights are irrelevant. If Ozuna comes back, it's strictly on a 1 year deal. And it'll be for 10m or less. If he sucks, no one will want to trade for him anyways. If he's good, we'll want to keep him for the entire season. Granted, Ozuna is a hard player to carry on a roster when you...
