I do think ND is a top 12 team. They are definitely better than Vandy and BYU, and probably better than Texas as well. It sucks that Tulane and JMU are in the playoffs as neither team is remotely close to even being a top 25 team, much less a playoff caliber team. I think it should be the 4...

While that is somewhat valid, keeping Bryce Friggin Elder in the game during game 3 when he was getting absolutely rocked is 100% a loss on him.

Technically BYU was already out of the playoffs at number 11, since they take the 5 top ranked conference winners and only the SEC and B1G had Championship games with teams ranked ahead of them. So BYU has no choice to win or they were out. The fact that they dropped to 12th is sort of...

The main risk in the Sale trade was wasting 16 million and relying on an aging pitcher that hadn't been "good" or healthy since 2018 to be one of your 4 best pitchers in 2024, behind Strider, Fried, and presumably Morton. The risk was pretty substantial that he wouldn't be good or healthy and...

Around 7 million with incentives. Not a huge gamble, but it's more than I expected him to get. I now wonder what Dustin May will get, since they have essentially been the same pitcher up to this point. I was thinking he might look good in the pen if he came cheap enough. Now, I am not so sure...

Giving out 7 million guaranteed to a guy that has barely thrown 200 innings in 5 years and wasn't particularly good in those 200 innings doesn't seem like an especially smart move, unless we are planning on payroll being like 260+ million. If we were short on cash AND our rotation didn't already...

He may get that, but most of the projections are pretty soft on what he gets. ESPN has him getting 4/90 for what it's worth.

Expect to compete, yet traded off several of their best players at the deadline, fired their manager who was widely considered a good manager, and they have no money to spend. LMAO. Maybe this is a negotiating ploy, but if not, the Twins are joke right now.

I think most people can recognize he's not actually a 5 WAR player, especially at age 32. For what it's worth, projections have him posting roughly 3 WAR next year. Also,, the injury history is a problem. As is the no trade clause. Both will knock his value down. Using fangraphs data on...

Right now we have 6 starters for 5 spots. If we sign/trade for a SP (which AA himself says he wants to do), that is 7 starters for 5 spots. The numbers just aren't in Holmes favor to land in the rotation without multiple injuries.

I find it unlikely Holmes is in the rotation, unless there a multiple injuries. He needs to be in the pen where, ideally, it's easier to manage the mileage on his arm.

I feel like Riley would have a hard time pulling 7/154 on the open market right now given his previous 2 seasons. He probably beats it in AAV given his age, but it would likely be a lot shorter. He probably takes something along the lines of 3/90 with an opt out after year 1. Strider doesn't...

I don't believe Buxton has nearly the value you think he does. He's over 30. And while he does a have a below market contract, anyone trading for him knows that the odds he plays in more than 120ish games in the field is pretty slim. So you're not quite getting the same value out of that...
