I wouldn't rule out trading for Peralta.

Suarez has been considerably better over the last 3 years, while also playing in a much more hitter friendly environment over most of this time.

I will say this. Signing Suarez to a 170+ million deal a year after letting Max walk for 218 would be..... head scratching to say the least. Maybe Suarez' market is a lot cooler than we think. ESPN only projected him for 4/92, which seems crazy to me in this SP market.

He's arguably the 2nd best starter in this class. And if we sign him, that means we don't have to face him. That's probably worth the 26th pick in and of itself.

I don't even know what his trade value would be, but would you trade MHII as part of a package to get Buxton and Ryan? I mean I know MsSt would. Probably Matt too. But would anyone elese?

If it means we can sign Kim, I am 100% on board with resigning Ozuna to a cheaper deal.

His stuff is in clear decline. The slider is not even a useable pitch anymore.

Which is insane. Devin Williams is a clear better option at this stage of their careers. He was arguably the best closer in the game coming into 2025.

Someone here said he would probably sign for that. But I was told Iggy was a better choice...

Zero chance the Braves are signing anyone to a big contract a year after letting Fried walk.

And Clarke is left handed which prospect evaluators seem to lose their shit over any time any left hander can throw upper 90's with elite movement. But the control issues are pretty massive. At least Abel had the benefit of youth for most of his minor league career. Clarke will be 23 to start...

I didn't want Gray anyways. But Fuentes and Cam is not an equivalent package. I am not quite sure how FG does their rankings and why Clarke was ever given a 50 FV grade. Yes he has legitimately amazing stuff, but he has 30 grade command. He didn't exactly dominate A+ ball as a 22 year old...

Those guys are not the we equivalent of Cam and Fuentes.

Also, Fangraphs has not updated their rankings. So to say Atl has no 50 FV prospects is not an accurate assessment. Cam was a 45+ FV this time last year. Am I to believe a year after Cam dominated A ball at only 18 that he hasn't improved upon that rating? Fuentes was a 50 FV a year ago, and...

That's fair. Elder has been in the league 3 years now so there isn't much of a mystery to him. But Fitz is certainly not a super valuable as a 26 year old pitcher that hasn't found any success in the majors. Maybe Kyle Wright circa 2021 is a slightly better comp. And no one would have lamented...

Fitts might have been a 50 FV a while ago. But he certainly isn't now. He'll be 26 in 3 weeks and he's been trending down for 2 straight seasons. But I would agree that the Cards made out well overall.

They got a top 100 prospect for him. And another semi-useful minor league pitcher that could be provide innings as a number 5 or a long reliever (basically Bryce Elder). Seems like an equivalent package would have been Ritchie and Elder. I'm happy not making that trade.

It depends on how bad he is in that scenario. We took a shot on quite a few guys last year that weren't exactly making league minimum. Guys like Blewitt, Montero, Fedde, etc. I got a feeling he might elect FA rather than sit in AAA.

I hadn't realized this part of Payamps signing. It makes a lot more sense now, and I am much more comfortable with it. From MLBTR: The Braves are investing $2.25MM in the idea that Payamps can regain his old form with a change of scenery. Payamps is out of minor league options and thus can’t...

Can't imagine we'd in on Alonso. Don't think the clubhouse is a fan of the guy.
