Okay fine you convinced me. You can add this back in the pile with the rest of Trump’s actions that will be immediately undone on day 1 because he rules by EO and tariff threat. Silly me for forgetting that

Notice I was very specific in my wording. Deporting from the interior is a different beast from border enforcement.

Trump to his vast credit has proven the things we used to tell ourselves about immigration (“they’ll just build bigger ladders”, “they’ll build tunnels!”) were cope. Border enforcement is a choice. D lost on that issue already. They won’t lose on it again.

change 5% to 90% and I agree with you I rely on a lot of mid IQ and low income people every day. Even the shit heels that leech in their spare time.

I sit firmly at the top of the IQ distribution… I’m the Peter Peak of IQ. Can’t kill the golden goose of rewarding mediocrity! True. Trump’s border policy is probably the one thing he’s done that would survive a (D) takeover.

They’re doing that anyways. It would be nice to know there’s an expiration date. And it would at least stop the deferral nonsense

You can’t. You’d have to phase into a hard cap. Or have some type of amnesty clause. The NBA has dealt with this. Their latest CBA basically turned the soft cap into a hard cap and they gave teams 2 years to prepare.

when you have a team that’s willing to pay Kyle Tucker a $120m a year (because Ohtani is an infinite money glitch) then I think don’t think you can make the penalty severe enough to deter. Just mimic the NFL and be done with it.

Let’s just go with a hard cap and hard floor. That way average joe fan doesn’t ever need to worry how much money their team makes from a TV deal or real estate investments. A couple thoughts after a few margaritas.

$5m opt out bonus. So this becomes essentially a 1 year $47m contract unless falls off a cliff. Great deal for Bichette. Such a strange off season for the Mets.
