Unfortunately it does seem like the most likely culprit this time around. But if that is keeping us from signing a useful piece like Littell for $10 mil or less, I question whether whatever they come up with for tv will be sustainable for the season. If AA was really told to kill spending...

There have been clear opportunities each of the last two offseasons and the two deadlines before that when this was a 100-win team to do much more to put us in a better position to win another title. Many reasons/excuses yes, but someone has to answer for the missed opportunities.

AA’s tenure has certainly been far above average. But he should be held to a higher standard because of that.

36 days until opening day. Today would be a great day for AA to sign a backup infielder.

And that's clown shoes that they didn't begin adequately preparing for that a long time ago. It does make the most sense though. I just see no logical reason why he wouldn't at least sign Littell given that he's in the same mold of a Lopez or Holmes and can be used flexibly.

Are setting an over/under on how many pitchers start a game for the Braves this season?

37 days until opening day. Today would be a good day for AA to sign a starting pitcher and pretend he’s signing a backup infielder.

What if it's his sister's wife? But seriously, I guess AA isn't the only one who prefers internal options.

I just can't fully accept he has gone down the river of total incompetence. This has to be Terry McGuirk's shit primarily, and AA I suppose feels indebted to him so he'll take the criticism.

I might be willing to defend the foolishness if he had gone all out for a big bat like Tucker.

Is Farmer still with the team? He might be able to land a spot. Gamel is also a possibility, probably insurance for a Yaz injury. I think Wisely is there as an alternative to Mateo. Even if we have to DFA him again, we’ll probably still eventually get him back. I would say we need another...

Doesn’t hurt to try - neither does bringing in 1-2 of the remaining free agent starting pitchers.

Don’t really care about Buehler, because he has sucked, but again, we sign every crappy reliever under the sun to minor league deals, so what would be the harm?
