We're going to sign Corbin and Scherzer seven years too late aren't we?

When you operate with the arrogance that everything is fine with that many injury risks, you get what you get.

Do our coaches, front office, and trainers even have contact with our guys during the offseason?

And that group also only won it all once.

Profar also apparently not happy with having to be the primary DH. Well...tough shit dude. You fucked your own team last year so be grateful you still get to play.

40 days until opening day. Today would be a great day for AA to address the fact that he has four higher than normal injury risks in the rotation.

And AA won’t trade for that because he wants to hang on to guys who might advance up to a 3 but will likely be the next wave of young pitching injuries.

Waldrep will hopefully build on what he did last season. Elder will only ever be Elder. Maybe he could be packaged with Holmes in a lot of games. Fuentes is not going to be ready. Ritchie probably not right away. Wentz is not good. Perez...29 other teams could have signed him to a major league...

Giolito or Littell as far as free agents and that's just for insurance and to hopefully allow for Holmes to be in the pen (he's not good the second time through the order). At this point, "playoff starter" could only come through trade. AA shouldn't be assuming he has the luxury of being picky...

This. He says it, he opens himself up to what should be an obvious follow-up. No one is asking for specifics. In general, what is preventing you from closing if you say it isn’t money?

41 days until opening day. Today would be a great day for AA to add a starter…but if it’s Corbin we’re talking about, hard pass.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I would like him to be pressed on “nothing materialized.” There have been no fewer than two dozen starting pitchers available the last two offseasons that could have helped this team. He added a grand total of zero. Where is the breakdown?

42 days until opening day. Today would be a great day for AA to add a damn starting pitcher.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I won’t belabor the point that he shouldn’t have committed so much money to two closers when he openly acknowledged he needed another starter if that was actually an issue, but I don’t care how hard it is. He needs to get it done.

I’d take a shot with him. Why has another entire day gone by without a starter being acquired?

    2025-2026 offseason thread

Schwellenbach’s injury creates a situation where we don’t just need a starter in the Bassitt/Giolito tier but now one higher up who could be a 2, even function as a 1 when Sale inevitably sneezes and breaks a shoulder. I don’t really care how deep they think the bullpen is. Relying on the...

    2025-2026 offseason thread

43 days until opening day. Today would be a good day for AA to make it less likely that Bryce Elder and Joey Wentz combine for a third of the team’s starts.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

It just seems to be a stretch that, even though he hasn't batted 1.000 with his moves, AA would have slipped into total incompetence. It has to be the people above him to some degree.
