Agreed. Quite clearly it's some jaded writers/coaches butt hurt. Maybe for Spygate or something. So sad that they are this petty.

Seems like Daboll is official for TN. Pretty amazing hire, imo. The only better OC candidate available this cycle was McDaniel.

I think there should be a tier. If a player signs a deal for 5+ years OR a total value of like 150 million, then that team forfeits a its 2nd highest pick. The team he was originally with before FA started can gain a pick if they sign him to a deal matching those figures.

I think he would just resign with AZ before that.

So happy to see that Valdez completely tanked his value with that little stunt this season. What an asshole.

Keith Law released his top 100 prospects for 2026. Braves had only 1 representative. Really surprised that Fuentes didn't make the cut. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6985939/2026/01/26/top-mlb-prospects-2026-keith-law-konnor-griffin/ 35. Cam Caminiti - Atlanta’s 2024 first-round pick is...

There had been reports they were trying to cut payroll. They didn't save much on the Semien trade.

Eovaldi would be a big risk, but has a ton of upside and would be relatively cheap, given the injury concerns.

I agree. Typically you should be able to luck into at least 2-3 ten year vets over a span that long. Our lack of SP development from drafts in 90s and most of the 2000's was definitely troublesome. But over the past roughly 20 years, we seem to have performed much better at scouting and...

If the Cards get to claim Wainwright, we get to claim Fried. Fried had all of 118 innings above Rookie ball before having TJS and then getting traded to us.

My theory is that this stems from us consistently picking in the back end of the first round for the majority of this time. Most of these teams have been consistently bad since 1990 and thus have consistently drafted much earlier than we have and had access to much better talent. While I haven't...

Mediocre return for Nats, imo. Rosario is a legit 50 SP in A+. The equivalent from us is probably Caminiti. But given he has so much risk, it's not the greatest headliner. Fien is the equivalent of Southisene. Talented 1st rounder from this past draft, but a long ways away. Fitz-Gerald is...

Bassitt is fine. But I think AA is still working on a trade for a TOR starter. I think a trade with the Twins is still on the table for one of their top arms. IMO, we're a really good match with them, in regards to both MLB ready talent and talent that is a few years away. I also think a trade...

More than I thought Belli would get, but that's the market right now since the Dodgers have taken a massive dump on the economics of baseball.

I know the market for pitchers is a little crazy at the moment, but it's pretty insane to think the Brewers are demanding more Peralta than they got for Burnes.
