I would equate those moves (specifically the first signing of Eddie, which wasn't for chump change) to the BP moves like Pierce Johnson. Not to Sale. I would argue for as good as the Sale trade was for us, the Murphy trade was just as bad. Bill has been worth 14.9 WAR since leaving Atlanta vs...

I count 11 bad moves, without factoring in him doing essentially nothing for a year and a half. I only count 8 good moves. So your math is a bad as your argument. And I don't recall anyone mentioning pre-2025 as some sort of barometer, though I might have missed that. Also, most of the good...

Profar is a bad fielder. He isn't completely unplayable like Ozuna, but he should not be playing the field very often. And we knew that, or should have known that going into last season.

Bad moves: Opted to let Freeman walk only to trade valuable assets to Oakland for another 1b and pay him the same contract Freeman wanted. Freeman and Olson have been worth roughly equal value, but Shea turned into a 3-4 WAR Catcher. This move wasn't completely terrible, but it was a bad...

Also, in regards to Schwelly and his bone spurs, this is from an article on Carlos Rodon back in October of last year: Rodón was operated on by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Wednesday to remove loose bodies in his left elbow and shave a bone spur. He has eight weeks of no throwing, and the start of...

The moves he's made/hasn't made? Aboslutely they have been.

Mostly on the backs of players that were already on the team/in the system. I listed the major moves he made. The negative moves (or non moves like last offseason) outweigh the good ones since 2021.

While that's fair, the bat played perfectly fine as a DH. And TDA/Pina was a perfectly acceptable catching duo. At the very least, if you didn't like the roster fit with Bill and Ozuna on the same team as a primary DH, then Bill should have been traded as the centerpiece behind a deal for a high...

Pretty sure most of us mentioned at the time that trading a cheap, good, younger catcher for an older, slightly better (at the time), more expensive catcher was a pretty poor use of resources. If we were trading Bill, it needed to be a legit TOR starter.

    Lolita Express is finally arrested.

You realize it's a technicality right? He isn't being arrested for anything related to sex trafficking.

He's the one that built the roster and handed out the contracts. So yeah, he is to blame. Profar was not a need heading into last year. We needed a SP and a really good RP heading into last off-season. We also needed a LFer and a SS. Instead he signed Profar, who was a better fit for DH than LF...

Yup. Ryan was loaded every single season until the end. Stafford had Tron and basically no one else until Golden Tate arrived. And they only played together for 2 seasons. Detroit also had garbage rushing games nearly every year Stafford was there. So it was mostly just Calvin Johnson and no...

Not really. The FA signings have been meh. And the trades have mostly been awful aside from Sale, Olson and Iggy. And the Olson trade was unnecessary since we could have easily just resigned Freeman. We basically gave OIson the contract Freeman was wanting. If we don't make the playoffs this...

Martin Perez feels like a lock at this point to make the rotation unless we sign/trade for an actual decent pitcher.

You're being unkind to Goff. Goff is way more physically talented than Ryan ever was. But Ryan definitely had the better career (thus far). There's no doubt that Goff has flourished in Detroit though. His last 4 years are probably better than any 4 year stretch that Ryan had.
