Think he’d renegotiate his contract to allow Atlanta to pay him less?

Alonso contract is tough but the Schwarber contract is worse. Schwarber came off a career year and the Phils paid for it. He’s not likely to be that good again

Seager would have to approve a move to Atlanta too

Yeah I wouldn’t care at all about Seager’s $$ at that point. I think this is getting put out there for Kim leverage though.

I mean last year the Braves made offers to Tanner Scott and Jeff Hoffman and still didn’t end up doing anything.

Can’t be mad at the Dodgers for actually spending their money. Teams and owners have money. Not all are willing to spend it. The dodgers are. And LA, I hear, is a terrible place where no one would want to live or do business so can’t be the market.

Would have to add a little more to Elder…Nacho? If Kinley’s option were picked up he’d have been perfect as the final piece but alas

Right. So when he doesn’t sign anyone that takes the pick away, he can just say a deal that made sense never materialized. That pick isn’t going anywhere.

Just like the $9m(iirc) last year was too much for a team like Atlanta to give him, $7.5m is too much as well. I’d rather have given PJ $7m. It made sense for a team like the Nats last year. Maybe he’s healthy and pitches really well and you buy a decent prospect at the deadline. I hope AA’s...

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I think not giving AA credit for the Sale trade is insane. It was a wildly successful trade, no matter how easy or obvious it looks. He deserves credit for finding it and making it. A valid criticism, however, would be that AA seems risk averse to the point that unless it’s an extremely...

Also said “the guy there, Super? Should call him ‘Super Smart.’ Also the industry says it is believed his penis is MASSIVE. ‘More massive than Stroman’ is a phrase I heard more than once. Something to keep an eye on.”

Idk how Olson gets replaced for $22m over the next four years. That deal is fine to good.

That one truly stands out as bad. I think Murphy gets that and more today on the open market with the league’s catcher situation. Strider questionable.

I think trading Harris would be dumb. He will be 25 all year. He can rebound.

Seems like people forget how great Iglesias has been. He had a rough start to last year. Otherwise he’s been ridiculously reliable, consistent, and healthy. I’m personally averse to relievers who walk tons of guys on the reg as well.

Yes, I said even at 3/$45m, which Williams surpassed, I’d rather have Iglesias for one year.

Also have to consider the fact that some guys may be getting written off too early. Riley was a really good hitter in 2024. Harris will be 25 the entire year. There’s a good bit of variability here. It could certainly click for a few years

People have definitely questioned the Olson extension. I think it’s been good. He would’ve been a FA after his monster 2023. He would have easily surpassed what he had left which was 6/$132m with a 7th year club option at $20m.
