Has he? He’s listed as a3B, and I don’t remember any SS appearances lately. Just checked and you are correct. I wasn't able to watch the early games. How did he look at SS?

It looks like the Braves have decided Gil is a 3B, not a SS. Interesting choice given the need at SS.

My guess is that they will agree to a buyout of the last year, spreading the cost over a number of years.

I think we are all forgetting that we have a new pitching coaching staff. They are likely having a major impact on how the pitchers are preparing for the season. I know patience is hard, but rushing to judgement after one, or even two abbreviated ST appearances is likely jumping the gun a little.

I would like to see Gil getting more defensive run. I really want to see how he does at SS.

That’s the reason most trades don’t happen. Not a good idea to trade a few good players for one good player.

He doesn’t want to trade Ritchie for someone who is not necessarily better now, and is even less likely to be better next year. That’s what most of the current proposals amount to.

My wife asked me if the board was feeling optimistic about the season. I told her the board is on suicide watch. Just as well cancel the season since we have no hope for success.😀 I am going to go out on a limb and predict that the season will turn out much better than the mood of the board...
