…and I would say the same thing about Ritchie. Don’t trade him for someone who is older, but not better than him.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I think we are severely underestimating Waldrep, Ritchie, Fuentes, Murphy. Of course we would like to have another proven pitcher, but I believe we will come up with a couple of good pitchers from that group and a few guys who emerge unexpectedly.

I think the players (Bassit) are the ones holding out, hoping the team will get impatient and panic. I just don’t see AA doing that.😀

I am not that desperate. I want guys who are signed at this point to fit a role on the team, not just a guy because we are late in the offseason.

Just wanted to point out that Enscheff said long ago that AA would likely wait out the offseason to see which pitcher was left without a home after the the bidding wars. Dare I suggest that that strategy may actually be working out???? Next few days ought to tell.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

There are a few guys signed to minor league contracts for roster flexibility purposes who figure to make the team, and some who will become available during ST. That seems like a manufactured problem to complain about.

It’s as much about quality as it is about quantity. The bench players they have added are much better than the ones they had last year. That matters when you have to count on them for bigger roles than intended for a couple of months. The opening day roster will look much different than the...

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I think getting Dubon and Yaz created the depth to weather the storm of losing guys like Murphy and Kim for a few months. They are still not deep enough to lose guys like that for the season. Of course we would like to be even deeper, but we need to acknowledge that the depth we have is much...

Okay, I know some of you will blast me for this, but here goes. I believe that we are underestimating the young pitchers in the organization. I think we will see that out of Waldrep, Ritchie, Murphy, Fuentes, and a few under the radar signings, we are going to come up with a couple of solid...

Are the twelve year olds finished saying mean things about each other so we can get back to talking about the Braves? Good Grief 😡

I am so glad that I am more optimistic than some of the stuff I read on the board. There is a lot of negativity here.

The flexibility of this lineup SHOULD more than make up for the loss of MO’s bat. Hope it works out that way.

How far into the season would it have to be for the QO penalty to go away. Any chance one of these guys is unable to find a deal? A couple of them might not be good enough for someone to give up both money and a pick.

I have seen multiple articles linking the Braves to Bassit. I know they don’t mean anything, but there have been a bunch today.

I suspect Boras was trying for more, but it just wasn’t happening. He probably circled back to the Braves.

    2025-2026 offseason thread

I don’t think anyone said anything about a young cheap catcher and an old more expensive one. Some people thought it was a good move to swap a young catcher who was struggling defensively for one who was proven defensively and also had success as a hitter. Hindsight is golden, and your...
