Lets see what Williams signs for before saying that. If it's like 3/45, i'd agree. But if it's like 4/70ish or so, ehh i dont know.

Yeah Williams at least gets 3-4 years.

Well 1 yr/16M means they have money to spend or blow (kidding). But good first move. Iggy was good after his rough start.

They kinda have to this year. Need a SP, bullpen help, SS, and some situation for the DH. Plenty of money off the books and reset the tax. I too would be pretty surprised if they did what they did last year. I think they'll make at least one big free agency move at the very least.

    REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Falcons still have games with Saints x2, Jets, Cardinals, and they should have beaten the Bucs the first game. But thats at least gonna be a top 12-13 pick if Falcons finished say 6-11/7-10.

Just depends how much he's looking for. He turned down 16M so Boras must think his market is more robust than we thought.

I think you can do SS and SP, but one would have to be via trade. Both in the FA market would be costly to say the least.

Love Murphy, but between the bullpen, SP, and SS, not sure 50M can add what is needed there. A top tier SP is costing 25-30+M, a closer is costing in the realm of 13-15, and a shortstop is at 15. McGuirk did say he wants the Braves in the top 5 of payroll so maybe AA has more to spend than we...

Buxton would be a massive addition. Between him, Profar, Acuna and Harris, you can rotate them between the outfield spots, and DH.

Feels like Tucker is the big fish this winter, so i'll go him.

Good start to the offseason getting that extra draft pick.

    New Manager Discussion

Yeah, AA had to get over-ruled by McGuirk. There's no way AA being someone driven into analytics would want Weiss given the options available.

You still have Lombard, Flaherty, Ross who are far better options than Weiss.

Yeah this is a kick to the balls. Unless Weiss is more forward thinking than we thought. AA better have a 24 Dodgers like offseason if he's hiring Weiss.

He's probably replacing Roberts when he retires. But even then. Lombard, Flaherty, Ross are far far better options.

I dont think a manager has as big of an impact game as some think. But Weiss even over Flaherty or Ross is crazy. Maybe AA thinks there'll be a lockout in 27 but idk man.

Walt Weiss named manager per Passan. That has to be some kind of sick joke.

It'll be tough to keep him given his agent and all. But they can still keep him, AA will just have to go above his means to do it.

I think just those three. Maybe we have to fight out SD for Lehman? Lombard's not a bad fallback choice though.

If Baldwin wins ROY, idk if i'd give up that pick for Cease or Suarez. 2nd rounder sure.
