DOB: Braves offseason about to get a lot busier. - Gamel released.

Hudson will probably sign with another team this time. He's played for 2 teams, why would 3 matter? Teams don't keep players any more and players don't play their entire careers for one team any more. Chipper, Jeter, Rivera, et. al. are the last of an old-fashioned trend in baseball. No room in...

MLB Trade Rumors predicts 50 FA's and where they land.

How wonderful that out of 50 free agents, Atlanta is only linked to resigning Hudson and not even 100% for that. Should be a fun off-season; Mets, Nats and Philthies will spend to get better. What will Atlanta do?

    Kershaw and 300 mill

I so love the 'economics' of MLB! Must have a touch of insanity to cheer for the most screwed up sport in all professional sports...

What to do with Uggla now?

Don't forget, they could also offer Josh Johnson a 1 year contract to grow larger to other teams for a big explosion in free agency!

Wren Interested in Bringing Hudson Back

Good for depth, good for the experience and ability and it's the right thing to do. Huddy should not finish his Braves career with that injury. Hopefully, they'll agree to a real team-friendly deal and Tim can retire as a Brave (riding off into the sunset with his World Series Champion ring...)

GDT: Braves @ Dodgers (NLDS Game 4, October 7, 2013)

I'm afraid the baseball gods hate the Braves. Maybe Ted Turner p!ssed them off somehow. Mattingly will come out looking like a genius after tonight...

Might as well not even play the NLDS

Have they cancelled the series yet? Almost everyone including Chipper says it's already over anyway!

Chipper Jones picked the Dodgers to win in 4.

Chipper has been reading too many posts on this website. The gross negativity has clouded his mind. (Besides that just creates one more person to eat a great, big "sh*t-burger" if and when the Braves win it all!!).

    The Pench Contract--Implications for McCann

Heh, haven't heard that since 2nd grade back in 1975!

    Playoff roster announcement?

Prognostication: the real BJ will return from whatever alien planet he was abducted to have a great playoff performance and Uggla will have some memorable hit or homer to win a game for us this post-season. Just to, you know, make most of your heads explode!!

Umpires Announced for Braves/Dodgers Series - Do We Have History With Any of These?

Of all the available umpires, how do these two get selected to continue calling games this season. Why, oh why can we never hear, see or read about one of these jerks getting reprimanded or (God forbid) fired over their poor job performance?

    The Pench Contract--Implications for McCann

Careful. There's a couple of guys on here who'll tell you with charts and graphs that Liberty makes no profit from the team and money saved on the Braves (or not spent on them) will never make it into the pockets of the owners, CEOs, CFOs, CEAs or any stockholder...ever!

    The Pench Contract--Implications for McCann

God, I would hate him if he signed with the Philthies. :mad0182: Glavine may appear now as a Braves announcer, he won the final game of Atlanta's only world championship but I will always hold him in less esteem (borderline disgust) because he bailed to New York of all places. BMac should be a...

    Playoff roster announcement?

If there were no personal feelings involved I could see Uggla left off the roster. We all know he has been abysmal this year! But this not being a video game where the characters have no feelings, I just think the team chemistry would nosedive if Uggla were left off. Struggles aside, he seems to...

GDT 9/28/13: Phillies (Martin @ Braves (Minor) 7:10 PM

As if anything said on this message board matters jack squat to the Atlanta Braves. Worst case scenario, they lose in the first round and spend the offseason getting over it with their money and privileges... That being said, if there were even the slightest possibility that fans could affect...

    Breaming

Sorry guys. I don't see anything wrong here. Bream is famous in baseball (regardless of being all that good) because of 'Sid Slid' in '92. The last time the Pirates were in post-season was, wow, '92. He played for both teams in his career. I can understand him turning it down but I don't...

    This odd-season

Well, I have no idea or prediction about what will happen but this is what I'd like to see: 1. McCann resigned but I know there's really no chance of it without a large hometown discount. 2. McCann NOT signing with a NL team and especially a NL East team if Atlanta doesn't resign him!! 3...
