Of course hindsight is always 20/20. But Riley was a top 10 MVP finisher in 3 consecutive years. Im not saying I agree with his extension. But I'm not sure anyone saw these injury laden down years the past two in what should have been a continuation of his prime. Someone correct me if I'm...

Interesting conversation. I feel like it's worth pointing out a few other points. -The window is certainly closing, and the best days are behind, and it really seems like a lot more and more each passing year will have to go right in order to be an elite contender. -The Braves are a weird...

Wonder if this now means the Brewers would consider trading Woodruff. They're already considering trading Peralta.

    A promise has been made.

I'm sure he does really want to be here. But I'm also sure he also wants the Braves to pay him more than any other team would offer.

Getting that draft pick is huge. Looking at the voting, it wasnt even that close. 21 first place votes for Drake. 9 for Horton.

There were recent quotes from him where he was hinting he's considering it when his current contract is up.

I have no idea who either of these guys are. But excited to see we are pulling guys with experience from outside the organization who are on the younger side.

I cant see the Mets being outbid for Diaz. I hope we at least run up the price.

As an aside, I was watching the replay of the grand slam Acuna hit in the 2018 NLDS and when it cut to the Dodgers dugout, there was Lehmann right behind Roberts. That was the year he started as game plan coach for them. Didn't realize he'd been in the dugout that long. So maybe he is waiting it...

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

Here's an unbiased take on our farm system. As excited as we've been on how far it's progressed over the past year, still sobering to see we have nobody who they consider top tier. https://prospect361.com/nl-team-prospects/atlanta-braves/

Woodruff and Gallen received QO. Those two seemed like reasonable options for the Braves to pursue, but maybe not anymore. And both may be tempted to accept. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/11/13-players-receive-qualifying-offers-2.html

I don't like this move either, in fact it makes me sick. But I'm trying to be optimistic somehow. My only hope is that a condition of Weiss getting the job was that he agreed to defer to the front office on strategy decisions, and that he will agree to hire a more forward thinking bench coach to...

A bunch of the guys in the top 10 of this list would be a good fit for the Braves.

I hadn't heard about this, so I looked it up. The only recent news on this I found was Roberts commenting on possibly retiring when his contract is up in 4 years...

The fact that Lehman has advanced to becoming the bench coach of the Dodgers at such a relatively young age is impressive in itself. That's a prestigious position. The Dodgers take winning very serious and obviously saw enough in him to feel like he was a good fit for that spot.

FWIW, I haven't seen Lombard or Lehmann linked to any other current manager openings. Doesnt necessarily mean anything, but interesting to the direction other teams are looking at.

I feel like it's quite possible he already interviewed Lehmann or at least has initial contact with him. The Braves are so secretive so we'll never know. But Bowman usually gets sprinkled a few breadcrumbs and he put out an article speculating he's in the mix so it adds up.

The thing about Lehmen is, he's had multiple years of on the job training from the premier organization in the league. It's a total unknown right now, but just have to hope he is going to be good with managing the clubhouse and keeping everyone happy. I always think back to how AA spent those...

Honestly this is the best possible outcome, considering what's available. A bit surprised there isn't even a token mention of Melvin or Baldelli though.
