    A 95 MPH average EV is 99th percentile in the entirety of baseball. Aaron Judge is the premier power hitter of this generation and has a career EV of 95 MPH for reference. The caveat is that it's only been 21 PAs worth of batted ball data, so it's still a really small sample. Exit velocities...

    I did the work so you don't have to. I pulled the EV data from Michael Martinez in the FCL so far (minus 2 games which didn't have any tracking info). He has put 20 balls into play that we have data on. The average EV on those 20 balls is a ridiculous 95.375 and he's already topping out at 112...

    Hey I hear the Yankees need a catcher. Gerritt Cole could be a workable centerpiece. This is the equivalent of that suggestion. Except Murphy actually has a little positive value, where as Devers is one of the worst contracts in baseball at the moment.
