    Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

My buddy made a good suggestion. Offer illegals without felonies the ability to become naturalized citizens if they serve a term of military of service (say 5 years, maybe less). I think you would see a HUGE boon in enlistments and it gives the added bonus of teaching them some basic skills to...

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

We only have data for 1 start for Murphy this year, which was 5/2. In that start his fastball was getting elite movement, averaging 19" of IVB and 6" of glove side run. Even with below average velocity, that fastball is pretty great. The curve was pretty great too. The slider flashed plus at...

GDT 5/6: Perez, Two Catchers, and Jarvis.. Let’s win one for Uncle Ted!

As much as we've talked about needing to get/stay healthy, the Phillies literally cannot afford to lose any of Harper, Wheeler, Sanchez, or Schwarber for any amout of time. They have ZERO depth. And Harper is usually good for missing 20-30 games.

Shea was a huge hit. Just not for us. Waldrep and Ritchie both might be good, though Ritchie was technically a comp pick.

    2026 MLB Draft Thread

I would expect pick 9 to not be one of the projected top 10-15 picks, unless someone we just love falls to us, like maybe Burress or Lombard. We'll do the normal, where we spread out the money among the top 4-5 picks instead of taking 1 or 2 elite players and then filler.

While the Phillies are not as bad as they showed in April, they still have a ton of holes. They're closer to a .500 team than they are a 90+ win team.

Man how great would it be if Jarvis could be our version of Jeff McNeil/Whit Merrifield?

Least surprising news ever. Dude has been in the league 11 years and has never thrown more than 134 innings.

GDT 5-5: Braves-Mariners; Left Fielder Michael Harris II

I can promise you, we aren't keeping a guy on the roster who is pitching as poorly as Bummer, regardless what he is getting paid. And he absolutely has reason to accept the assignment to Gwinnett or elect FA and re-sign on a minor league deal, if no one else is willing to sign him to their...

GDT 5-5: Braves-Mariners; Left Fielder Michael Harris II

We have cut 2 pitchers already because they were garbage and Bummer has been just as bad as them. And no one is claiming Bummer. He might elect FA if he can find someone willing to put him on their 40 man. But I think it's more likely that he would accept the assignment to Gwinnett.

I assume they mean that because his power is mostly to his pull side this year.

Ryan is actually ok. MRI came back clean. He may not miss a start. Mets will probably sell Peralta to anyone. He's a half season rental. I don't think they would have an issue selling him to us. Alcantrara will likely be available. deGrom might be available. Sonny Gray might be available...

Ozuna wasn't 35. Yaz is just not hitting the ball with any authority whatsoever.

He is already throwing. Also, deGrom had TJS on nearly the same day 2 years earlier and he was back pitching in September the following year.

Heck yeah! Excited to see if there is anything here. He's been killing it in AAA and the on base skills are impressive.

I disagree. The pen is solid now, but he have basically zero depth. Karinchak and Dodd are the only viable reliever options at AAA at the moment. Bummer will likely get the boot as soon as Dodd is ready. We don't need a Hader type of addition at the deadline, but another solid reliever or 2...
