5/15: AJSS and the ROY batting second in the Business Man’s Special

We now have a .5946 winning percentage since starting the year 0-7. I know you can't erase the first 7 games, but that is still pretty impressive given we don't even have Strider and Acuna back and 3/5 of our rotation is Elder, AJSS, and Holmes.

5/15: AJSS and the ROY batting second in the Business Man’s Special

Bats come out swinging today. Braves win 11-3. Riley, Olson, and Ozman with bombs.

GDT 5/13/25: Braves vs Nationals - Another Chance at .500

He also has had hammy issues this year. There really isn't a reason to risk our best hitter getting hurt. Baldwin is young and athletic enough.

Ozuna is done as a fielder. In the bottom 5% of sprint speed in the majors. Verdugo and Baldwin might as well be Usain Bolt compared to him.

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

Sooo.... This Workinger kid is looking pretty legit. Seems like the type of prospect that takes a little while to figure out a level, but when he does, he mashes (Riley was that way). I know he's a tad old for his level, but he's leading the Southern League in HRs and RBIs and he's 4th in OPS...

GDT 5/13/25: Braves vs Nationals - Another Chance at .500

I feel the problem with that is that it incentivizes voters to vote a particular way, instead of voting for the guy that deserves it the most. For instance, media members in the Philly, NY, LA, and DC regions may be more inclined not to vote for Drake because it benefits their teams more if the...

    2025 Around The League Thread

The Dodgers have more money on the IL currently than the entire Miami Marlins payroll.

GDT 5/13/25: Braves vs Nationals - Another Chance at .500

I mean it isn't like we haven't tried it before. Drake is pretty athletic and he's young. And we aren't talking about putting him out there every game. But it wouldn't hurt to let him start 2 games a week in LF and 2 games a week catcher. I suppose putting Ozuna in LF might be a better option...

    Minor League Thread Part Deux

He could fake it at 3b or 1b for a few games. But he's going to end up costing you more runs then he'll generate in the long run. But he needs to be promoted either way.

Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson Now Eligible For The Hall Of Fame

I could see Shoeless Joe before Rose. Shoeless Joe has more of an innocent aura around him. And he took money at a time when players were paid peanuts.

GDT 5/13/25: Braves vs Nationals - Another Chance at .500

How effing hard is it to put him in LF for 7 innings and then defensive sub him in for the last 2 innings?

Are bbw allowed to vote for them? Figured this would have to be a veterans committee vote.

    05/12 Nats @ Braves A National Embarrassment

Jansen is proven to be better than virtually every reliever on our team, save maybe Iglesias. Aside from 1 outing, he's been near untouchable this year. I would easily put Finnegan no worse than our 4th best reliever if he were currently in our pen. He currently has a higher WAR than all but...

    05/12 Nats @ Braves A National Embarrassment

I think Correa might be toast. Seems like an unnecessary risk at this point. Wilie Castro would be a decent pick up though. He seems like someone who is likely rebound from his poor start to the season.

    05/12 Nats @ Braves A National Embarrassment

Kenley Jansen is a high leverage pitcher on an expiring contract. He isn't going to cost a major prospect. May be not even anyone in our current top 10. Ditto for Kyle Finnegan and Pete Fairbanks. And that's without factoring teams that will most likely sell at the deadline, like Minny...

    05/12 Nats @ Braves A National Embarrassment

Just because the BP is not awful does not mean we don't need upgrades. BP pieces are relatively cheap at the deadline and a shutdown pen is critical for deep playoff success.

GDT 5/10/25: Braves @ Pirates - Beat the Bucs

Gunnar Henderson isn't going anywhere. We'd have an easier time trying to pull Jackson Holliday, which also isn't happening. Our best hope is that Ambioris Tavarez breaks out and can be ready by this time next year.

GDT 5/10/25: Braves @ Pirates - Beat the Bucs

Ideally you would platoon White and Verdugo, but White hits RHP better than LHP. Ultimately, I think that is going to be plan regardless until; Verdugo gets back and that will be the plan in the post-season too. I just don't see us adding anyone with Profar coming back in August and with JK as...
