It's not a routine play. It's a play that an average outfielder makes 75% of the time. msstate incorrectly assumed the .040 xba meant it was an easy play. Not sure why you are trying to white knight him.

Only you apparently. Francour has a lot of similarties to Acuna defensively. Great arm. Meh jumps and questionable routes. The main difference is that Acuna is the better athelete and has the speed to make up for some of the poor outfield play.

But Acuna isn't a good defensive RF and nobody is trying to say that he is. msstate was trying to act like anybody (but acuna) would make that play

Defensive stats in Jeff's day are nowhere near as accurate as they are now.
